Autumn is a new arrival to the P-Valley strip club in Mississippi, and she has a clue that might lead her to uncovering the identity of an infamous murderer. Mercedes, the manager of P-Valley, welcomes Autumn to the club while Uncle Clifford is not so keen on having another woman around. With his secrets exposed and his heart broken, he wants this new girl gone but Mercedes has other ideas. However, Autumn will not be welcomed with open arms by everyone. When Autumn walks through the door of P-Valley, an old friend is waiting for her in the shadows.

What is the plot of the story ?

The plot follows the lives of Autumn and Mercedes, the two main characters. Autumn arrives in Pynk, Mississippi seeking revenge against a former lover who mercilessly killed her husband. With the help of Mercedes, she manages to find her way into the secrets of this town located deep in the bayou. The discovery of unexpected information leads to an investigation that will also reveal some dark secrets from Mercedes’ past .

Who is in the cast ? What role did each character portray ?

The cast included Brandee Evans , Elarica Johnson , Sherida Vincent , Mone’ Reese, Kadijah Robinson and Tamu Smith . Brandee Evans portrays the role of Autumn , a small town girl with a big secret and a heart that’s even bigger. Elarica Johnson plays the role of Mercedes , coordinator and manager of P-Valley, “the grandest resort this side of the Mississippi”. Sherida Vincent is usually described as the “air in a room” and her no-nonsense attitude will make you take notice. Mone’ Reese plays the role of Jasmine , the dancer, who twirls on stage but can turn on her heels to mow you down if you cross her path.

What are the difficulties they face in the series ?

The characters face many difficulties in the series, but their biggest enemies happen to be themselves. Autumn, in her quest for revenge, will cross lines that will force Mercedes to face a decision: stay with Autumn and help her finish what she started or distance herself from this “evil” woman. Mercedes must also deal with her past when truths are revealed about the death of her son, who was Autumn’s husband. The themes include but are not limited to : greed, self-discovery and acceptance, self-worth, love, betrayal and redemption. The main conflict is Autumn’s mission, revenge and desire to uncover the identity of her husband’s murderer. But as she finds out more information, it will lead to a series of events that may incriminate Mercedes or even end her life.

Who is the antagonist ? What are its motives ?

The antagonist will be Mercedes, the manager of Pynk and a sassy black woman who is not afraid to let you know what she thinks. Being seen as an enemy, she has been judged by others for her past and her friendship with Autumn, but in the end, Autumn will not abandon her . The antagonist is a murderer who has been on the loose for more than two decades. She will be portrayed by Sherida Vincent .

What are the epic scenes ?

The two main characters will meet their destined lovers and will also face their worst enemies. The first epic scene is when Autumn will have to choose between the love of her life, a man named Tyler and the man who has been in love with her since she came to this town, a handsome black man. Everything is in place for these two people to be together and it is a really beautiful scene. Another fantastic moment happens when Autumn finds out who her husband’s killer was and after that, things become even more complicated because Autumn will realize she has feelings for Mercedes. In order to avoid having Mercedes killed, Autumn must now put her trust in Uncle Clifford.

P-Valley a series that has been in production for over two years and is therefore considered a masterpiece of the genre. The only reason this series was created was to give an opportunity to black actors, writers and producers living in the Diaspora. If you’re looking for a refreshing story about love, friendship and loyalty, P-Valley is the series for you . This is not your typical lesbian drama; this series offers action from the start .
