What is the series about?

This series is set in the time of the Viking Age. It showcases the story of Thorfinn Karlsefni who spent most of his life avenging his father. The two were attacked by Sweyn Forkbeard, the man who killed Thorfinn’s father and forced him to flee from his home country Greenland. His mother sends him away from Asleifsson’s grasp; she has no choice left as she would get killed if she doesn’t do so. He was nine years old at that time and since then, he vowed to kill Sweyn one day. Eventually, Thorfinn is an established leader, leading a ship alongside his crew and his son. His son is like him, ever looking forward to seeing what it will feel like when they get to the other side of the ocean. He has been working on building up an army to win back the land that Sweyn took for himself.

What to expect from season 2?

It is assumed that season 2 will continue from where season 1 left off. The story is expected to keep the same pace as it was at the first season premiering in 2019. More will be revealed with the release of the second season which is still a few days away. We are expecting everything to be the same as the previous season, with all of its ups and downs. There is no news on any new characters that will be featured in the ‘Vinland Saga’ Season 2 Netflix Release Date and we do not know if they are going to be introduced or not.

What makes this series interesting?

The fact that it is based on the 13th-century Icelandic Saga of the same name, ‘Eiríks saga vandræðaskálds’, provides a very interesting story. The story itself is quite long and follows Thorfinn Karlsefni’s life as he sets out to Vinland, not knowing what lies ahead of him or if he will return alive. The series tells the story of his journey to get there to prove his worth, even at the cost of losing many lives including his own.

Who can watch this series?

Anyone! This series can be watched by anyone who loves historical dramas as well as anyone who loves anime. It is available globally, in dubbed and subtitled versions, on Netflix.
