The Upcoming Horror Film ‘The Exorcist Reboot’ Getting Released This year

The Exorcist reboot has been the talk of the town since it was announced this past year and many fans are excited to revisit one of horror’s most iconic films.  The film is due to be released this year, however, it has been 17 years since the last entry of The Exorcist franchise so it will be interesting to see what direction director David Gordon Green takes the story. The prospect of a reboot has many horror fans excited. After all, the original film by William Friedkin made many believers out of skeptics. The exorcist film left audiences fearing the devil in more ways than one. But from the looks of it, The Exorcist reboot is going to be a different sort of horror film than what audiences were expecting. Blumhouse Productions and Morgan Creek Productions have teamed up for The Exorcist reboot and have tapped director David Gordon Green to direct the film. The film is about a girl. “When a teenage girl is possessed by a mysterious entity, her mother seeks the help of two priests to save her daughter.”

What is the film The Exorcist about?

The Exorcist is based on the 1971 novel by William Peter Blatty of the same name, and has been adapted into a film twice before in 1973 and again in 2004. The Exorcist was also adapted into a series on the Fox Network. Director David Gordon Green will helm this installment of The Exorcist reboot, while William Peter Blatty will handle the script.  The basic premise of the film is that an exorcism is performed on a young girl who has allegedly become possessed by a demon. The exorcism only lasts a couple of days and all of the signs are pointing to the fact that she is absolutely fine.  The problem is that everyone, including the priests performing the exorcism, sees it as a failure. The girl’s mother seeks out two priests to help cure her daughter.

What fans are expecting from Reboot?
