The year is 1984 and Will Byers, a 12-year-old boy who disappeared mysteriously while playing outside in a small town, has been rescued. Eleven years later, his friends get a call from him and set out to find him only to find that he is still missing. Soon they come across several new members of their group. Together they must make their way back home where they will discover the truth of what happened to Will over those 11 years.

What is the plot of the story ?

The story takes place in 1985 when the previous season left off. Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) is rescued from the alternate dimension known as the Upside Down, where he spent a week following his abduction by the Demogorgon and a supernatural slug-like monster named Mind Flayer. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Mike Wheeler (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin Henderson (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) and Will find themselves reunited in their hometown of Hawkins, Indiana, with no memory of what happened after Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) found Will. Meanwhile, they are unaware that they are being watched by someone with an unknown motive.

Who is the antagonist ? What are its motives ?

The antagonist of this season is the Mind Flayer which is a form of evil which seeks to control and consume the world by destroying humanity. Throughout the season it was only hinted at, with its true appearance only shown toward the end of the season when it devoured several people and birds. In the previous seasons she was portrayed as an empathetic, caring girl who was looking out for her friends, but in this season she is portrayed as a much darker character.

What are the epic scenes ?

The first scene is when the boys are in the pool, and they feel something attacking them. This is then followed by scenes showing Will back home and he is being possessed by the Mind Flayer. These scenes were quite emotional as one of the characters had to go through some hard times, which might be difficult to watch for younger viewers. The next great scene was when Eleven rejoins her friends at home with no memory of what happened to them following the death of Hawkins Lab Director Dr. Martin Brenner (Matthew Modine). Another emotional scene comes from an argument between Dustin and Lucas who suspect that Max has been lying about her best friend’s disappearance one week ago.

I would recommend this to anyone who is a big fan of Stranger Things as it was a pretty interesting and entertaining season that you wouldn’t want to miss. This is because this season had some new allies and villains, a thrilling story and dark themes which makes it a must watch for all Stranger Things fans. Thanks for reading !
