Game of Thrones

With no new season of Game of Thrones being released until 2019, fans will have to make do with any other upcoming Game of Thrones spinoffs in the meantime. Here is all the Game of Thrones spinoffs that are coming down the pipeline. The House… You’ve never heard that before? Well, now you know what it means! House of the Dragon is an upcoming web series based on the blockbuster fantasy book series The Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin that is produced by Dreamworks Television.

Introduction to The Game of Thrones

The series takes place on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos and follows several dynasties vying for control of the Iron Throne. The plot revolves around the last descendant of a royal family fighting to take back the Iron Throne of Westeros from her usurper siblings in an ironborn invasion. The source material is set in a world where magic, however, limited it may seem, is common and frequently used by many characters in different forms.

The storyline of The Game of Thrones

Season 1 is based on the first novel in the series, “A Game of Thrones”. It introduces the several plots and players, who are so intertwined that they cannot be resolved by one person’s forces. The Starks try to engineer a marriage for their daughter Sansa with King Robert’s eldest son Joffrey, who has been promised to Sansa’s eldest sister Arya since childhood.

The headstrong Arya has other plans. She runs away from home to marry her sword-fighting tutor, Syrio Forel. Jon Snow, Ned Stark’s illegitimate son, is drawn into the intrigue after he saves the life of Prince Bran Stark (Sansa’s younger brother) and is taken back to Winterfell as a pupil. At Winterfell, Jon becomes acquainted with his maternal relatives, including his uncle Benjen (the First Ranger of the Night’s Watch) and his aunt Lyanna (Ned Stark’s sister).

The storyline of The Game of Thrones

The Game of Thrones is a series of novels by George R.R. Martin and the original television series, which are now two separate entities but they were initially the same thing, just with a different medium. The TV show is famous worldwide and has won a slew of Emmy Awards as well as numerous other awards in North America and internationally.

The following is an overview of the entire storyline to date of both the novel series and television show:

Winter is coming, when dragons wake from stone…A long-ago prophesy foretold that a savior would come from the North and save the Seven Kingdoms of men and women who are being torn apart by bloody battles. The prophecy foretold that this savior would rise, a knight with a white cloak, to go North against the enemies of man and return to defeat them. In King’s Landing, the capital of Westeros, one such knight had been born. His name was Eddard Stark.

Eddard was the second son of Eddard and Catelyn Stark. He was born in Winterfell, surrounded by the North’s majestic mountains and forests. He had a younger brother, Robb, and an older sister, Sansa. Eddard grew up with his family in Winterfell under the care of his mother, Lady Catelyn Stark who, along with her husband Lord Eddard (his father) ruled the Westerlands (the region of Westeros comprised of castles) north of King’s Landing.
