Introduction to Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank
“Tom and Jerry gotta get out of this place!” is a phrase uttered by nearly every child who first watched the classic cartoon, Tom and Jerry. Do you remember the show? A ton of classic cartoon characters that are known for causing all kinds of trouble are there. You might even recognize them, like Tom himself, an overconfident cat who always gets beaten up by the much smarter mouse; Jerry’s owner Mr. Jinks; and many others.
The series has been around since 1940 and was produced by a company called Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) for sixty years until 1992, making it one of the longest-running animated series in TV history. The landmark series featured a relatively new type of character – voiced cartoons – which is why the series was successful before Tom and Jerry starred in their movies. The characters are so well known today that they’ve been guest stars on other cartoons, such as The Simpsons.

The storyline of Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank
In a distant land called “Furfuria”, the story of Hank begins. He was born to great parents and believed he could do anything. But one day, tragedy struck… or so it seemed. When Hank was born, he was considered a “squeezer” by his parents.
A squeezer is an animal that has the power to change into anything they touch. They switch from their normal form (an animal) to their other form (a human) by touching either a person or an object and wishing hard enough for it. What started as a blessing in disguise turned into something that made life difficult, confusing, and ultimately unmanageable for Hank.
Clips from ‘Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank’ are now available via Paramount
Paramount Pictures has just dropped the first clips from Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, a new family film about a cat who can’t wait for his owner to get home from work. As you can see in the clips, Hank is not a lazy cat who sleeps all day and only comes out to drive his owner crazy. This cat has claws and more than enough energy to spend time chasing anything moving around his home – including dogs and even humans.
This first installment was specifically engineered to get a family film into theaters, but it quickly broke out of that niche and is now seen on a wide variety of video sites as a favorite with multiple generations. It’s safe to say that Hank has captured a piece of the American family audience, and will hopefully be seen well into the future as an animal star on TV and in film.
