The First Look at Sigourney Weaver’s Teenage Character in Avatar: The Way of Water

Avatar: The Way of Water

Sigourney Weaver’s teenage character in Avatar: The Way of Water has been revealed, and the heroine is amazing — she’s a female warrior who takes on a male avatar to teach women how to fight.

The film is set to take place during a time when tensions between humans and colonists are at their worst. Sigourney Weaver plays Marai, the prong of an influential family who must hide from their enemies or face exile from their tribe.

Marai is a young woman named Zo’ael, but she has the body of a teenager who takes on the form of an older man when she has to fight, as James Cameron recently explained in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Introduction to The Avatar: The Way of Water

Many paths exist in the world of Avatar: The Way in Water, but for those looking for a way to avoid fighting this may be the one for you. A series of articles will detail not just what being an avatar is, but how to become one.

Fortunately, this path is not only open to Waterbenders, as any person can follow it regardless of their tribe or bending ability. But those with water connections will find this path a little easier than those without.

Some of the paths would probably require one or more skills that are currently uncommon. But there are other ways to learn them, and they presumably exist in the fandom.
