‘Dune: Part Two’ begins filming in Italy this month

Dune: Part Two officially began production this month in Italy. David Lynch will be directing the film and is set to star alongside Tim Roth, Kyle MacLachlan, Jason O’Mara, and Élise Théry. The project has been shrouded in mystery with most information being released on social media. Also, as opposed to traditional media outlets.

Part One of the sci-fi movie was released a few years ago; however, fans were disappointed that it differed greatly from the book series written by Frank Herbert.

The film is being produced by Nicolas Winding Refn (Drive, Neon Demon), Dean Zanuck (The Crazies, The Verdict), and Richard Rubinstein (Reds). Denis Villeneuve will be directing the sequel to the film.

Dune was originally released in 1984 and was written and directed by David Lynch. The movie is based on the Frank Herbert novel of the same name; however, it fails to live up to its source material.


Introduction to The Dune

“Dune” is the first part of a science fiction space opera. It is one of the most well-known and popular science-fiction works in history. The novel focuses on issues such as ecology, human psychology, and philosophy.

The movie starred Kyle MacLachlan as Paul Atreides, Alec Guinness as Emperor Shaddam IV, and Patrick Stewart as Gurney Halleck. The soundtrack was also composed by David Shire with music by Jerry Goldsmith also devised the main title. The film’s art direction was by Dennis Muren.

The film received generally favorable reviews and grossed $50 million in the United States, and $63 million worldwide. Becoming one of the most financially successful science fiction films of the time. It received seven Saturn Awards nominations and won four: Best Science Fiction Film, Best Art Direction, Best Special Effects, and Best Costume Design.

The storyline of The Dune

Dune is a 1984 novel by Frank Herbert about the setting of a distant futuristic desert planet named Arrakis. This was exciting news for the thousands of fans who had been waiting decades for the adaptation to come out. The announcement caught the attention of those who had previously not been aware and those who felt that this could be a big step in finally making science fiction mainstream.

While many high-profile directors, writers, and actors have not been attached to the project, many have been rumored. It seems that the film project is taking shape but with a release date still in the future, it’s clear that it will be in no rush to get going.

The key to success lies in having a well-rounded selection of skilled individuals with diverse backgrounds and then viewpoints coming together to create something that fans want.
