The Upcoming Film ‘Transformers Rise Of The Beasts’ War Shows How Far The Franchise Has Come

With the Transformers franchise returning with a new live-action series on both the big and small screens, The Upcoming Film “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts” expresses just how far the franchise has come. With scenes of a cityscape transforming into Cybertron’s moon, Beast Wars-Esque CGI, and familiar faces like Optimus Prime and Megatron in action – Rise of the Beasts will bring back some familiar vibes to fans who have devoured Takara’s Beast Wars comic book series. But with all these familiar faces in action, it introduces a new human protagonist to go along with them.  Showing more than a few action-packed scenes, the trailer teases the return of familiar characters and the introduction of new ones. This familiar feel comes from the movie’s Animation style, which has been influenced by the original cartoon show. When the first movie was announced, it was a surprise to many fans who were underwhelmed by “Prime”, with its more serious tone, and no elements from the original series. The upcoming film looks to expand upon this idea – bringing back more familiar faces; Optimus Prime, Megatron, Soundwave, and Starscream are all featured in action-packed scenes.

What is the film about?

The is set in 1994 and follows a pair of archaeologists who cross paths with the Autobots, who help them deal with the Decepticons. The film seems to be a good tie-in for the live-action series, which is set to launch in the fall. With the show set to be a lighter adaptation of G1, hopefully, Rise of the Beast’ will flesh out some of those fan-favorite characters from G1. The Great War between Autobots and Decepticons has continued for millions of years, and as they approach Earth there’s every chance it could spill over into our world. As Optimus Prime says in the trailer: “This war could come to your planet next”. And judging by what we’ve seen so far, it looks like he’s right. The trailer shows action-packed scenes of Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Soundwave battling off Decepticons. The trailer also shows several familiar characters that have appeared in previous incarnations of Transformers throughout the franchise’s history.

What makes this film interesting?

The animation style of the original Transformers cartoon lasted a very long time, with some characters still sporting their 1980s style and others updated so they fit in with the Planet-Era series. This film will continue this trend and expand upon it, introducing elements from the Beast Wars cartoon, Megatron from War for Cybertron, and Scrapper as a character instead of just a vehicle. In terms of the cast for Rise of the Beasts, there are casts from G1 and Beast Wars. Several returning characters have been established throughout the franchise’s history: Optimus Prime, Rodimus Prime, Megatron, and Bumblebee.

Who can watch this film?

This will be a film that fans of the G1 series will enjoy – but it’s also interesting in that there are so many characters to draw on, fans who simply want to see more Transformer action won’t be disappointed. For those who like the changes made in “Transformers Prime”, this is a film that they’ll enjoy as well, featuring an entirely new cast of characters with some familiar elements from the G1 series.
