Scott Winchell is an average Joe dad and mall mascot, until he’s mistaken for a missing Santa Claus and whisked away on Christmas Eve to the North Pole. Everything in his world has been stolen – including his daughter’s toys, Christmas presents and even her room.

The cast include Tim Allen , Eric Llyod, David Krumholtz, Sarah Chalke and
Daniel Stern . Tim Allen portrayed the role of Santa Clause, Scott Winchell. He was a good father, provider and devoted husband in his everyday life. While he was pretending to be Santa Clause, he was the man who brings happiness to children on Christmas. Eric Lloyd portrayed the role of the elf Max. He was the one who kidnapped Scott Winchell to become Santa Claus because Max knew he is a handsome man and will fit perfectly to become Santa Claus because of his attitude and behaviour in front of kids when he worked as a mall mascot. The other elves played by Sarah Chalke portrayed Greta as well as Lily.
What are the difficulties they faced ?
The story begins with a Christmas tree and Scott Winchell in his pajamas. All of a sudden, he is woken up by the police. The police officer who is talking to him does not understand him at first, because he speaks in gibberish like an elf. He says that there’s been a theft at the mall and he already knows who was involved because Santa had named them all. He shows Scott his picture and tells him that he looks just like Santa’s photo of himself before he was kidnapped by the elves.
What are the themes ?
The theme of the story is about a Santa Claus named Scott Winchell who decided to work as a mall mascot Santa Claus without knowing that he will be kidnapped by Max, an elf from the North Pole. While in captivity, he learns that there’s a true meaning of Christmas and that changing between normal lives and disguising themselves are not easy.
Who is the antagonist ? What are its motives ?
The antagonist in the story is Max, an elf from the North Pole. He plays a big role in the story. In the first part, he switches Scott’s and Tim’s memories of themselves into each other so that they will believe that they are each other and therefore both can continue their disguising. Later, his real motive comes out gradually when he tries to get information from Scott by touching him so that he can start loving being Santa Clause as much as possible. After a while it becomes clear to both of them that Max is trying to make them belong to him since he thinks that only if one belongs to him, they will be able to fulfill their true purpose in life.
What are the epic scenes ?
The most important part of the story is when the elves kidnap Scott Winchell and take him to their world. Here, he has to play Santa Claus and deal with children. The children are afraid at first when they meet him because he looks very different from them. He tries to redeem his image as a Santa Claus by giving away toys that have been stolen from the kids by Max or Lily, an elf in red bikini. Later, he is forced to conceal his true identity from all of his family and friends in order for them not to get into danger because of him being Santa Clause as well as for their safety.
Who is the most loved character ?
The most loved character in the story is Scott Winchell;he is a regular man who had to face a crisis in his life and become Santa Clause. Because of him, the whole Christmas season becomes brighter for children. In the end of the story, he decides to let go and returns home to his real life.
