The Adventure Fantasy Film ‘Harry Potter’ May Be Getting A Reboot

Harry Potter is a worldwide phenomenon: it’s an international bestseller series, has sold more than 400 million copies, and spawned 8 blockbuster films that have been seen by more than 5 billion people across the globe. Now, it’s being reported that Warner Bros. Studio plans to reboot the original Harry Potter film series with a new director. It is speculated that Chris Columbus (director of the first two Harry Potter films) will not be involved in this next project according to Deadline, he does not want to direct another franchise after directing Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief.  This leaves fans with a lot of unanswered questions as they wait to see what happens in this next stage of the Harry Potter film series. Harry Potter was originally released in 2001 and, though the eighth film of the franchise was released in 2011, there is still a lot of interest in the series that Warner Bros. Studio can tap into with this new direction. According to The Telegraph, Universal Studios has plans to keep Harry Potter films alive by picking up the rights to J.K. Rowling’s books and making a new series of films featuring its main characters.

David Zaslav the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery has announced that the company is implementing a new strategy that will focus on developing and relaunching some of its most iconic franchises. Such as Harry Potter whose film series generated 100 billion dollars for Warner Bros. Studios. A few weeks ago, WDW Pro took to Twitter to announce their exclusive leak on the planned reboot of the Harry Potter film franchise including recasting all eight main roles in the next 3-5 years with actors ranging from 16 to 18-year-old kids. The source went on to say, “It’s going to be gritty, and I would expect they’ll cast mostly unknowns.

The Harry Potter film series revolves around the adventures of a young wizard named Harry Potter and his friends at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The original story begins on Harry’s 11th birthday when he receives a mysterious letter from a Hogwarts professor named Albus Dumbledore inviting him to attend a school for witches and wizards. Upon entering Hogwarts, Harry “meets strange characters, solves magical mysteries” as he learns more about the world of magic from his new teachers – as well as strange creatures like giant spiders and half giant-half human giants. The storylines follow the character through their years at Hogwarts, where they soon discover their true purpose in life while facing new dangers that come with being a witch or wizard.
