When Will Season 2 of Vinland Saga be Released?

Vinland Saga Season 2 is scheduled to release on January 9, 2023, so you have plenty of time to catch up on the first season.

What is the series about?

Vinland Saga is a historical fantasy manga written and illustrated by Makoto Yukimura. The story follows the life of Thorfinn, a young warrior in the tenth century who has been chased out of his village in Iceland. Thorfinn’s journey takes him from battling against bandits to joining the army of Cnut The Great, a king whose name ruled over the majority of England, Scandinavia, and parts of Europe for over two decades after his death. With realistic artwork and action-packed battles that play out like an epic saga, Vinland Saga is an expertly crafted tale that will appeal to fans of both action and historical fiction alike.

What Can Fans Expect?

Vinland Saga is one of the most entertaining anime series I’ve ever seen, and it’s a shame that it’s not more well-known in North America. The story not only follows Thorfinn’s time in Norway as he learns how to survive in the harsh conditions of medieval Scandinavia but also how his deeds as a warrior gradually come to change his life and lead him to England two decades later. With compelling characters and story twists that I never saw coming, Vinland is one show that has stuck with me for years after just one viewing. Even for longtime fans though, I would tell you to not expect any major spoilers from this season as the story is so complex that watching it all at once might just end up being confusing. So if you’ve been waiting to watch Vinland Saga Season 2, start preparing your brain by going back and rewatching the first season now!

What makes this series interesting?

Vinland Saga is based on a long-running manga by Creators Makoto Yukimura and Kosuke Fujishima. The basic plot follows the life of Thorfinn, a young warrior from Iceland who travels to Norway to fight against the group of bandits that killed his father. Vinland’s story takes place over multiple years, and it’s one that’s been praised for its historical accuracy and attention to detail. As time goes on, Thorfinn will encounter plenty of interesting people as he grows up in a world torn apart by war. This is all done in a way that feels natural though, and author Yukimura makes it clear early on that he has no desire to glorify bloodshed or succumb to clichéd dialogue.
