Concerned that typecasting would prevent him from appearing in Peaky Blinders, Cillian Murphy

Cillian Murphy has just been cast in his first major American TV series, and he hopes it’s the last one. The Dublin-born actor has been snapped up for the lead role in the Netflix crime drama “Peaky Blinders”, which is set in 1919 Birmingham.
And given that he’s already starred as an Irish Republican fugitive, a drug-addicted Hollywood director, and a psychopathic serial killer, he is hoping that landing this latest role will finally allow him to move on from his gruff-voiced bad guy persona.

Story of The Peaky Blinders
When does it start? What’s going to happen in the new season? Nobody knows for sure, but this season will be a “blood bath”.
In Season 5 of The Peaky Blinders, Thomas Shelby and his family were battling the emergence of communism – and then they were forced to go up against fascism during World War II (and fascism won). It was brutal.
The next episode of the new series will probably reveal who killed Papa Shelby. The season will also see Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy). And his family dealing with the consequences of their involvement in the Russian Revolution, which climaxed in the finale of season 5 as Tommy and Lenin’s henchman Vladimir Lenin (David Straithairn) were stranded in a snowy forest together.
Peaky Blinders will be referenced in the closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games
The Commonwealth Games closing show, which is tomorrow night in Australia, will give a nod to Peaky Blinders. It’s been revealed that the TV show about Birmingham gangsters played by Cillian Murphy and then Tom Hardy, will be shown with the theme music playing on the screen.
This is one of several references to the UK that have been featured in the Closing ceremony. Frankie Goes to Hollywood sang Relax and other British songs, including London Calling from The Clash.
The event also included a video feature called ‘Queen at 80’, which looked back at her life and career such as Innuendo’s video for I’m Still Breathing.
More than 10,000 competitors and officials will take part in the Closing Ceremony on Wednesday…
Summer Olympics was watched by an estimated audience of 2.1 billion worldwide, making it the most watched television program in history. The Closing Ceremony featured a global array of cultural performances based on songs from all corners of the world.
In Australia, people have also been invited to attend one last time at Carrara Stadium – near Melbourne. For a show which is also set to feature music heritage from Britain, Australia, and New Zealand.
Colors from many Commonwealth nations will create a spectacular pageant before being brought together by the Australian band Men at Work in the final musical piece.
