Theatrical and Netflix Releases Announced for Florence Pugh’s “The Wonder”

Florence Pugh-led “The Wonder” gets a theatrical release with 3D technology and Netflix. This is a great play for the audience to watch and learn about the world through Florence’s eyes and how her mind works. The play has an unexpected twist, but it’s a great story in general. It was also very interesting to see what else is out there that would be worth watching!
Introduction to The Wonder
The Wonder movie is a movie about a family who adopts a young boy from India with a facial deformity, and their struggle to love him amid their town’s prejudices. This family lives in rural Ireland and the parents are non-believers in God. The Wonder movie was released in September 2022 in cinemas around the USA. It was directed by Stephen Chbosky who also wrote it with Jack Thorne. The cast includes Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Jacob Tremblay, Izabela Vidovic, and Millicent Simmonds.
The Wonder movie received very mixed reviews, but many critics praised the acting and the positive message in it. Time Magazine said that “The film is written and directed with a quiet restraint that comes from a lifetime of experience rather than from a desire to create an Oscar-bait tearjerker”. A Rotten Tomatoes critic said that “while some scenes are powerfully acted, The Wonder movie will play better to believers than non-believers. It makes you think, but not deeply”. Julia Roberts was nominated for 1 Golden Globe Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama.
