Dune Part Two, directed and produced by Denis Villeneuve, has wrapped production. The actor, who plays Paul Atreides in the sci-fi film franchise, shared a photo on Instagram on Monday night from a desert location alongside his father Marc. The actor said production for Dune: Part Two wrapped with an Instagram post that featured him and his father Timothee Chalamet in the desert together. Hollywood is buzzing with the upcoming sci-fi film Dune: Part Two after it was announced in June this year. The sequel to the critically acclaimed sci-fi drama, which is based on the legendary novel by Frank Herbert, has been in production since then and is set to release next year. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, who had also helmed the original installment of Dune: Part One. The sequel will feature the leading cast of Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgård, Javier Bardem, and Josh Brolin. Villeneuve also confirmed that Dune: Part Two is based on Herbert’s complete novel, which is longer than the original work and includes five sections.

What is the film about? 

The sequel to the critically acclaimed sci-fi drama, Dune: Part two, will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with the Fremen people and sets out on a warpath for revenge against the conspirators who betrayed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee. This film is not going to be a remake. The filmmaker has openly spoken about his desire to adapt the entire book instead of just one section, although he intends to begin with the Dune: Part two story about young Paul Atreides. The Spy Who Dumped Me star Rebecca Ferguson is also joining Chalamet in the highly anticipated sci-fi sequel, but it was not immediately clear what role she would take on. 


What fans are expecting from the 2nd part? 

Fans are expecting the second part of Dune to change the way they perceive the first part. While it is quite popular to think that Herbert’s science-fiction novel can be converted into a good film because of its epic theme, the first installment of the trilogy failed to live up to the expectations of movie-goers who were looking forward to it. However, this may change with the second movie. The first installment was widely praised for its cinematography and visual effects, but D’une Part two will go a step ahead since Villeneuve is set to direct and the cast is already a crowd favorite.

The second installment of the trilogy is bound to be very interesting seeing as the third movie will be based on the last part of Herbert’s opus, which is longer than the first one and also heaps with details and explanations. The director has also been talking about how he would like to use more music from composer Brian Tyler in Dune: Part two than in its predecessor. Villeneuve has stated that these three parts of Dune are not meant to be a trilogy but rather a single film.

Critics have also been raving about the sequel to the critically acclaimed sci-fi drama and have stated that the filmmakers are working hard to ensure that their work stands out from the first installment. Dune: Part two was well-received by critics for its promising visual effects. The Hollywood Reporter attended the premiere of the movie and stated that this sequel is better than its predecessor. Speaking about Dune: Part two, critics from The Hollywood Reporter said that Villeneuve does a good job of steering clear of the slow pace in Part One which made it boring for some people.
