Producer Says Tom Cruis Might Me Bussy For ‘Top Gun 3’ To Happen

Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of Top Gun: Maverick, suggested to The Hollywood Reporter that Tom Cruise might be too busy for a third movie to happen. Originally, in 1986, Maverick was a classic that saw Cruise reprise his iconic role as the fighter pilot to train a new generation of fighter pilots. The sequel was released on May 27th in theaters worldwide and has become a box office phenomenon with $1.5 billion grossed so far. Cruise has been known for doing many different projects, from Mission: Impossible to World War Z. However, Bruckheimer suggested the actor might be too busy for the sequel Top Gun 3 to happen. There are no plans right now for another sequel but it is not impossible if Cruise were available to do it at some point in time. However, that does not mean another sequel will not happen. Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of Top Gun: Maverick and one of the biggest movie producers told The Hollywood Reporter (THR) that he thinks a third film is possible but it requires time to develop.

About the Top Gun Film?
Top Gun is a 1986 American action film directed by Tony Scott, produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer, and written by Jim Cash and Jack Epps Jr. It stars Tom Cruise, Kelly McGillis, Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards, Tom Skerritt, and Michael Ironside. The story is set in the U.S. Navy around the end of the Vietnam War (1975), following top fighter pilots training at the “Top Gun” school at NAS Miramar, San Diego. Cruise plays Lieutenant Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, a young Naval aviator aboard the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise who has an aversion to being just another one of the fleet’s pilots. The film, sometimes considered to be an example of the “jet jockey movie”, has been called the “most successful” movie of the 1980s and even “one of the most influential films of all time.”
About the sequel Top Gun: Maverick
Top Gun: Maverick will be released on May 27, 2016. Top Gun: Maverick was rated PG 13 by the MPAA and is said to be the sequel to 1986’s Top Gun, which starred Tom Cruise as himself. It follows his survival from a notorious crash in Goose Creek, South Carolina, and his continued training of Navy pilots throughout summer in 1986. While at an air show during a dogfight, Scott Brick was suspended from his duties and forced to take a demotion because he disobeyed orders to avoid making any contact with enemy planes.
What are the reviews?
Both films received positive reviews from audience members. On Rotten Tomatoes, Top Gun: Maverick scored a 76% from critics and an 85% from the audience. On the website Metacritic, Top Gun: Maverick scored 74/100 from critics and 8.1/10 from audiences. What makes this film interesting?
Top Gun: Maverick is said to follow Tom Cruise’s 1986 character from the original film, as he continues his flight training of the new generation of Navy pilots for the US Navy. Top Gun: Maverick is about what goes on with other members of the Top Gun Force, alongside Cruise as he trains his replacement pilots in preparation for their next mission. Because this movie is about what happens to Cruise’s character after Goose Creek, South Carolina, there will be some new characters spread throughout this movie who are also in Goose Creek and leading up to it.
