Netflix Drama Romance TV Series ‘Heartstopper’ Season Second wrapped filming

Netflix Drama Romance TV Series ‘Heartstopper’ Season Second wrapped filming

It’s been over 8 months since Heartstopper premiered on Netflix and the hit show has already gone on for two seasons, with a third on the way. The second season wrapped up filming recently this past month and I’m so excited to see what happens next in the exciting and sometimes romantic drama that has been created by Heartstopper Productions. The cast and team behind the show were very much in disbelief when Heartstopper became a global phenomenon within days of its arrival on the streaming service. The show is one of Netflix’s most-watched dramas, coming in second only to Queer Eye, and it’s been critically acclaimed at an unprecedented rate. Now that production has wrapped up, we can expect to see season 2 released in 2023. Perhaps even sooner if they get the chance to produce more episodes. There are a bunch of projects in the works for the writers and producers of this show, with a lot of opportunities that come with being a success. This is all after only two seasons. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend giving it a shot.

Who is in the cast?

  • Kit Connor as Nick Nelson
  • Joe Locke as Charlie Spring
  • William Gao as Tao Xu
  • Yasmin Finney as Elle Argent
  • Corinna Brown as Tara Jones
  • Kizzy Edgell as Darcy Olsson
  • Tobie Donovan as Isaac Henderson
  • Jenny Walser as Tori Spring
  • Sebastian Croft as Benjamin
  • Cormac Hyde-Corrin as Harry Greene
  • Rhea Norwood as Imogen Heaney
  • Fisayo Akinade as Mr. Ajayi
  • Chetna Pandya as Coach Singh
  • Stephen Fry as the voice of Headmaster Barnes

Release Date:

The first season of the series “Heartstopper” was released on 22 April 2022 with a total number of eight episodes and also renewed for a second season which is expected to be released in 2023.

What is the series about?

“Heartstopper” follows Charlie (Joe Locke), a high school sweetheart who is obsessed with Nick (Kit Connor). These two star-crossed lovers find themselves going through their own coming out, as well as what comes next. Like season 1, the show always chooses heart-stopping romance over trauma, a welcome tone for teen coming-out stories. The show is like Romeo and Juliet in that it’s happening in our now, so viewers can relate to the characters and storylines. They are not a bunch of kids living in some fantasy world where they don’t have to deal with real-life issues. I’m hoping that the series gets picked up for a third season so we can finally see Charlie and Nick get together in a very realistic way. I love that the show uses real actors, as well as people behind the scenes, who have all worked on other shows and movies. It’s neat to see their work in a different setting, especially since they are all very talented.

What fans are expecting from the upcoming season?

The first season leaves us on a cliffhanger. For anyone who hasn’t seen the show yet, it’s a really good series that follows the book of the same name. The original comics were written by author Alice Oseman who created the show. I was lucky enough to get on set while they were filming season 2 and I got to meet some of my favorite actors who star in the show. There are so many fans of this series, and now that production has wrapped. you can imagine how excited we all are for what everyone involved has in store for us in 2023. There’s no doubt that we’ll see a second season

Why should I watch this series?

If you’re looking for a series that is different from what’s out there, this is the one for you. It’s not like anything else and it takes some of your favorite genres and combines them to create something amazing. The show has been praised by critics and fans alike, with episode ratings in the high 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Special features include some behind-the-scenes footage from filming season 2, which has been expanded to include additional cast members for this upcoming season. I would highly recommend giving this show a chance if you haven’t checked it out yet.
