What is the series about?
The series revolves around a therapist, played by Jason Segel. The therapist, known for being very empathetic and thinking of his patients, is starting to experience something so incredibly sad and dramatic in his life that he must do something different to deal with it. He decides that he will take on a new persona in each counseling session. Unfortunately for the patients, he is not who he pretends to be. They have no idea that the person they’re thinking of is a different person altogether. This is where the comedy of the series comes from because the people in his life believe that he’s doing what he does best, which is being empathetic and compassionate, but then as soon as something bad happens to him, he takes a completely different turn and becomes less compassionate.
