Apple TV is loaded with a lot of fun and entertaining shows, but the upcoming Shrinking series is going to be certain not to disappoint. As we all transition from summer into fall, it’s now time to go back and start getting ready for 2023. Apple has just announced that their upcoming comedy series Shrinking will premiere on January 27th (as long as you have an Apple TV).  The cast also includes Adam DeVine as Homer and David Koechner as Uncle Egbert. Ving Rhames also plays Murray in the series. Shrinking is created, written, directed & executive produced by Brett Goldstein (The Ranch), who also co-stars in the project alongside Jason Segel (The Muppets) & Harrison Holzer (American Vandal). The series is also executive produced by Jason Bateman (Ozark).  Shrinking is about an over-the-top therapist, played by Segel, who is known for counseling patients with his usual sensitivity and care, but when he loses something significant in his life, he starts to change as a person. But, instead of changing his advice or routines for treatment, he decides to take on a new persona within each session.

The comedy series ‘Shrinking’ is scheduled to be released on the 27th of January 2023 on Apple TV. If you want to watch it you have the chance to stream it on Apple TV.

What is the series about? 

The series revolves around a therapist, played by Jason Segel. The therapist, known for being very empathetic and thinking of his patients, is starting to experience something so incredibly sad and dramatic in his life that he must do something different to deal with it. He decides that he will take on a new persona in each counseling session. Unfortunately for the patients, he is not who he pretends to be. They have no idea that the person they’re thinking of is a different person altogether. This is where the comedy of the series comes from because the people in his life believe that he’s doing what he does best, which is being empathetic and compassionate, but then as soon as something bad happens to him, he takes a completely different turn and becomes less compassionate. 

What is interesting about the series? 

The interesting part about the series is that it’s going to be very empathetic and compassionate. That’s why it’s called Shrinking. It takes a very serious turn when a therapist, who is so loving and caring to his patients, decides to change into something completely different whenever he gets something bad in his life. The series revolves around this character and how he deals with the issues in his life by taking on completely different personas. 

What is the targeted audience? 

The series is targeted to both children & adults as long as they are aged 13+. It is not a very gory show, but there may be some young kids that may not be able to handle some of the content.

Who is the director? 

The series is directed by Brett Goldstein. He has been in the industry for a very long time and he has worked on many films and series, such as ‘Superbob’, ‘Thor: Love and thunder’, and ‘Howl’.
