Will Justice League Dark Come To The DCU?

Just when Warner Bros and DC fans felt like they were finally getting the Justice League movie that they’ve always wanted, it turns out that James Gunn is directing a live-action Suicide Squad film instead. Then we learned that the next Batman movie would be directed by Matt Reeves, and now it looks like Justice League Dark may not happen for quite some time. In an interview with The Wrap, Guillermo del Toro – who was previously attached to helm the project – suggested there was no foreseeable future for Justice League Dark. “I don’t think so,” he said in response to a question about whether or not it would be coming anytime soon. He might not be the only one who doesn’t want Justice League Dark to ever get made. Even though it’s currently set up at Warner Bros – with Gunn writing and Safran producing – the studio doesn’t seem all that interested in making it a reality. It’s no secret that when the studio greenlit Justice League Dark, they had a completely different vision in mind.
Is Justice League Dark Got Canceled?
Well, they did say that they were planning on making a different version of the project… So we have to assume that will happen at some point. And it seems like some people are trying to do it without del Toro in the picture, so maybe they will go forward with it if they can find a new director. Or maybe they’ll just scrap the whole thing and start over as is being done with Flashpoint. It’s less likely that Warner Bros will scrap the project completely than restart it from scratch, though. The studio is already committed to getting both Justice League Dark and Flashpoint into production before the year ends. It just depends on whether or not people want those movies or not.

Why should you watch this film?
Justice League is a fun action movie with good special effects. It’s a great start to a new universe of DC films and is definitely worth watching. The film is a break from the dark tone that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice took, an action-packed promotion of heroes doing their jobs after the events of Man of Steel, and the introduction to a whole new cast. Though the villain didn’t have much screen time, Steppenwolf was menacing and powerful. Also, it had a satisfying ending that left you wanting more.
