He might seem to be the perfect villain in a children’s animated series, but many fans are wondering if he could potentially turn against his friends and teachers. Bakugo is a student at the U.A. High School in Japan and is a classmate of Midoriya’s, though they often find themselves on opposite sides of any conflict. Bakugo appears to have an unending reservoir of explosive anger. Well, My Hero, Academia is a popular action-adventure manga and anime series that’s been adapted into four courses in the US and even a live-action film. What is the series about?

My Hero Academia is an action/comedy/superhero story created by Kohei Horikoshi. The manga started in July 2014 and has been compiled into 36 volumes as of December 2022. In total, it has been adapted into three different anime seasons and even a movie. The premise of the action-adventure manga revolves around protagonist Izuku Midoriya who is born without a quirk that prevents him from being a hero at any cost to his dream. He eventually gets scouted by All Might, the world’s greatest hero who also happens to be his greatest inspiration. He enrolls in the U.A. Academy of first-year students where he meets his best friend, Katsuki Bakugo. The two become rivals as they both pursue their dreams and become friends along the way despite their constant conflict. My Hero Academia deals primarily with the growth of their friendship as two young boys struggle to overcome the obstacles in their way.

What makes this series exciting?

My Hero Academia, the anime series, provides a little more to the story than what is seen in the manga. In general, it’s a pretty generic story about two young boys who both want to become superheroes and eventually grow up together. The creative team behind All Might and Katsuki Bakugo do their best to inject as much humor and action into a slice-of-life-type plot as possible despite their genre limitations. My Hero Academia isn’t just another fight or comedy show but also an action-adventure series with less focus on comedy and more focus on action and martial arts.

Who can watch this series?

My Hero Academia is not just for children; it’s intended to be watched by adults as well. While it’s one of the more violent and action-oriented comics, the series has a lot of humor as well. The characters are generally pretty witty and the comedy isn’t usually aimed at a particular race or ethnicity. The manga series is available in both English and Japanese. It’s a modernized version of some of Shonen Jump’s most popular series. The anime is also available on Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Hulu.
