What is the series about?
The series’ pilot is an adaptation of the first book in Frank Herbert’s Dune series (Dune). On the series’ official website, it states the series takes place “Ten thousand years in the future”. This means that this series is the first time that future viewers can see how the Bene Harkonnen sisters established their Order in a galaxy ruled by men. It also preserves a tradition that Herbert himself introduced into his novels. In the original Dune, it states that the Bene Gesserit were established “long before” the events of the book. When this series was first announced, many were surprised that Sci-Fi had decided to adapt a story from Frank Herbert’s classic sci-fi novels. However, this is not an entirely new concept for the channel.
Why should you watch this series?
The series is a groundbreaking example of how new technologies (in this case television and the internet) can be used to promote old ideas. When this show was first made, CGI was a new form of animation but it has since become commonplace. Audiences today expect shows that include other forms of media such as computer-generated animation and full-length movies, as well as traditional television shows. In some ways, “Dune: The Sisterhood” will be an experiment on how far the channel can go with futuristic shows.
Why should I watch this series?
This is a great series to watch if you have watched other sci-fi television shows and you are looking for something different. The series will be an excellent way to start or continue your love of sci-fi. “Dune: The Sisterhood” is a landmark series in Sci-Fi and could have something for everyone.
