MCU Action Adventure Television Series ‘Moon Night’ Based On Fictional Character

The moon is an incredible thing. It’s cold, bright and so beautiful — it’s hard not to spend time underneath its light. Marvel hero Moon Knight does just that; this protector of New York City looks for the fights no one else will take on, including going against some of the most feared villains in all of the Marvel Universe. With Oscar Isaac portraying the heroic crime fighter, it’s hard not to want to look at all the different interpretations of this hero. With that said, Marvel Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding has shared some stunning concept art featuring Isaac’s version of the hero. Moon Knight is Marvel Studios’ first television series to be released on Disney+, a streaming service that will host Marvel’s TV programming in addition to its blockbuster movie offerings. It’s easy to see why Moon Knight was selected for this honor: Marc Spector has one of the most compelling character arcs in all of comics, and his origin story is a perfect entry point for new fans who might not be familiar with superhero stories outside of their favorite movies.

Release Date:

What is the series about?

Moon Knight is an intense and brutal crime fighter who protects New York City’s criminal underworld. With the FBI shutting down his operation, Marc Spector will become a hunted man. To survive, he’ll need to fight against both the criminals of his city and the law enforcement trying to take him in. This story is about redemption, identity, and legacy all things fans love to see in their favorite Marvel heroes. Moon Knight’s story begins in Egypt where a mercenary named Marc Spector witnesses his allies gunned down in front of him by insurgents. To save himself, Spector shoots one of his enemies with a grenade launcher but instead of killing them, he accidentally shatters the ancient statue they were using as cover.

What makes this series interesting?

The Moon Knight character has been around since the 1960s and has seen many different interpretations since that time. This series will have an original take on Moon Knight’s origin, making it wholly unique from past versions of his story. Though he is a vigilante, he acts as a hero, and the new version will reflect that. He’s not looking to fight crime for its own sake; rather, he tries to help others who are victimized by criminals or are being wronged by the wrong people in politics or media. At the same time, though, we’ll be seeing a more brutal side of him.

Who can watch this series?

This series is not just for American audiences. It will be available to people across the world, so international fans can enjoy the show as well. And because it’s an original take on Moon Knight, it should attract new fans who might not have ever previously considered watching a Marvel Studios television series.
