Disney+ Brings Another Adventures Comedy Film ‘Disenchanted’ This November

The follow-up to 2007 critically and commercially successful Enchanted is coming soon. Disney+ has revealed the first trailer for Disenchanted, which will be released on Friday, November 18th. The new film stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel, James Marsden and a whole host of other actors from the original musical fantasy romantic comedy that you all know and love. The original film follows Giselle (Adams), a girl who is cursed with long-lasting bad luck, but when her fairy godmother (Menzel) grants her one wish, she decides to change her whole life by beginning to work out. However, the second Disney+ trailer shows the hidden side of Giselle’s life that can sometimes be more extreme than her bad luck. The plot of the film is part musical, much like its 2007 predecessor, and the film was directed by Adam Shankman. The film looks just as visually stunning as its predecessor but with a lot more humour and a lot less singing. If anything, it looks like Disenchanted will be an even bigger hit than Enchanted. The trailer starts by displaying small snippets of Giselle’s daily life and work at her law firm.

Release Date:

The film is set to be released on the 18th of November 2022.

What is the film about?

The film is a follow-up to the hugely successful 2007 Disney musical, Enchanted. Giselle (Amy Adams) has just married Robert Philip and is living happily ever after in Andalasia as Princess of the realm. After 15 years of living happily ever after, she has begun to question if this is the right life for her. This leaves her family in a state of chaos and turmoil. The audience is introduced to several characters from the original film, including Prince Edward (James Marsden), Giselle’s mother Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon), as well as Giselle’s co-worker (Patrick Dempsey). Menzel, who played Giselle’s fairy.  There is a lot more comedy in Disenchanted than there was in Enchanted. This is especially noticeable at the beginning of the trailer. The humour builds from here on out and it leaves you wanting to see more of this off-beat take on the Disney fairy tale.

What to expect from the film?

Enchanted was a magical romantic comedy, with a great storyline and catchy songs. It felt like you were watching an animated Princess film, with Amy Adams’ all-around superb acting. The original film had an interesting storyline that could be related to real life in some ways. For example, the horrors of work, or how two people who seem completely incompatible can end up becoming the perfect match.

Who can watch this film?

This film is suitable for anyone with a sense of humour and anyone who has seen the original Enchanted. The animation and production values in this film are no doubt on an even higher level, beyond what you would expect from a modern animated film. The humour and storyline are perfect for Disney fans in general.
