What is silmarillion?

The Silmarillion is a fictional book from J. R. R. Tolkien’s Middle-earth legendarium. It is a collection of stories about the first days of the creation of Arda, the earth. Tolkien completed The Silmarillion in 12 volumes. In 2006, Christopher Tolkien published an abridged version of The Silmarillion as part of his 50th-anniversary edition of The Lord of the Rings; it ran 51 chapters compared to over 300 in the full version. The Silmarillion is not considered a part of the main prophetical legendarium, but rather a historical origin for Middle-earth.  He is a British actor and filmmaker. He played Gollum in The Lord of the Rings (film series) series as well as Caesar in Rise of an Empire.
