Rider Strong Commented On The Sitcom Series “Boy Meets World”
I know, I know. You heard it before. Rider Strong commented on what he thought about the sitcom series “Boy Meets World”. But he has a lot of good things to say when you hear him out, and there are some nuggets of wisdom in there for all of us that are worth considering and applying in our own lives. Rider Strong was an actor in “Boy Meets World” who played Shawn Hunter, a character who was one of the focal points in the sitcom. What makes this series interesting?
Although “Boy Meets World” had an unusually long run for a sitcom, it was not at all disappointing for its fans. It is one of those series that you watch and keep going back to over and over again. The main characters were always enjoyable to watch and the humor was apparent in the scripts, but I think what makes a show like this so compelling overall is the authenticity of its characters. The authentic character journey makes this series enjoyable because it doesn’t have that sickly sweet cynical moralizing as some other sitcoms do. What it has instead is believable characters with great attitudes who always say what’s really on their minds and make mistakes with those attitudes because they are still learning how to be good people.
How is the show different from other shows over sitcoms?
The series creator, Michael Jacobs, said he was always looking for stories that were not only entertaining but would teach a lesson as well. The lessons learned in this series resonated with audiences because they seemed to fit in with the overall experience of growing up. One of the things that make this show stand out from so many other sitcoms is that it is about a very adult person rather than a pre-adult. Many sitcoms have their characters grow and change along with the real-life experiences of their actors. But the characters in “Boy Meets World” are more like the ones you knew when you were 7 or 8 years old than any of those other shows.
Who should watch this series?
If you are a parent, you should sit down with your kids and watch this series. It will give them the kind of positive and realistic message that too many television shows today are not delivering. If you are an adolescent, it will give you a good lesson about how to be more mature and how to handle yourself in social situations where most of us make mistakes.
