A new clip from the dark comedy horror film The Menu is shown, in which the sinister intentions of an upscale restaurant are revealed. Release Date:
The film ‘The Menu’ had its world premiere on September 10, 2022 at the Toronto International Film Festival and it is set to be released in theatres on 18th of November 2022.
What is the film about?
The film centres on an affluent couple who want to sample one of chef Julian Slowik’s beautiful culinary creations at his rundown seaside restaurant. But what starts as a romantic dinner quickly takes a disturbing and surreal turn when the menu becomes the basis for a devious, provocative art project and their dinner begins to look more like something out of The Exorcist than a meal. With echoes of Twin Peaks and Twin Peaks: The Return, Searchlight Pictures and Mark Mylod’s “unusual” horror thriller gives us an unsettling look into the inner workings of an upscale kitchen, where decadent events take on a decidedly nightmarish dimension. The Menu promises to be a look at how far people will go to eat something and how far they’ll go to get out.
What is exciting about the film?
With its dystopian-like vision of a future where chefs, desperate to stay in the upper echelons of fine dining, take extreme measures to stay on top, The Menu is guaranteed to be one of the most talked about movies of 2022. The film was written and directed by Mark Mylod and stars Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy and Nicholas Hong Chau. “From the director of Mark Mylod comes an original horror story about the limits of human endurance, as a young couple’s romantic getaway at an elite restaurant quickly descends into a hellish nightmare (Searchlight Pictures).
Who can watch this film?
Everyone can watch this film, as we have enjoyed sharing it with many audiences for two seasons now. The Searchlight Pictures and Mark Mylod created a rich story that will haunt you long after you’ve seen it. Audiences of all ages can enjoy The Menu, as the film is suitable for all ages.
