DC’s Stargirl Will Be Ending After Season 3 On CW

Stargirl fans! We’re sorry to say that after 3 years of fighting crime, helping out the citizens of National City, and doing some pretty impressive things in the Justice Society, we are sad to report Stargirl is ending. It was a tough decision for us to make, but we feel this is the best time for her and those who love her. While we’ve loved being able to share this great character with all of you over these past few years, Stargirl will be ending after season 3.

What is the series based upon?

The series is based on the DC Comics comic character Stargirl, created in 1999 by Geoff Johns & Lee Moder. The series follows Courtney Whitmore as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. “Stargirl” is based on the DC Comics character Courtney Whitmore, who inspires a new generation of superheroes to step forward when the world needs them most. The live-action drama reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series that promises to have a major impact on Super Hero mythology. 

What makes this movie interesting?

Stargirl is the DC Comics character created by Geoff Johns in 1999. Stargirl has a bad-girl attitude, which makes her interesting for the typical teen. Fans of the comic will be pleased to see Courtney Whitmore as a teenage girl. Stargirl has a flying wand, which makes her more unique than some of the other DC superheroes. 

Who should watch this movie?

DC Comics fans and teen viewers who are looking for a superhero story to fall in love with – should watch or rewatch Stargirl. Fans of Supergirl should check out this series, as it features the first superhero team, the Justice Society of America. 

Why do you think fans are unhappy with the ending of Stargirl?

According to a press release, “Stargirl” has been dropped by the CW. The series was not one of their higher-rated programs and it has received mixed reviews, so dropping the series makes sense. Unfortunately, the series was just beginning to build an audience. The showrunners have not announced if they will be shopping the show around, possibly to another network. 

What do you think Stargirl’s legacy will be when the show ends?

Most people have given up on this series, due to the lack of press releases and media coverage. Outside of comic book circles, fans have no idea that it was canceled. Stargirl was a unique superhero show that featured a strong female lead and a diverse cast. Hopefully, another network will take a shot at the series to allow it to build its audience.
