The Sci-Fi Adventures Film ‘Green Lantern’ Getting Redeveloped By HBO Max

Warner Bros is stepping up its streaming game as they recently announced that their HBO Max streaming service has acquired the rights to a film called “Green Lantern”. HBO Max got the rights to “Green Lantern”, which once again stars Ryan Reynolds, because they are one of Warner Bros. new partners with the merging of HBO and Discovery+. The film is an adaptation of a Green Arrow comic book storyline written by Geoff Johns. At this time, there is no word if the film will have a theatrical release or if it will be exclusive to HBO Max. Warner Bros. has not yet revealed any further details about the film, but it appears that DC plans to remake all of their live-action titles into their HBO Max franchise. The studio has already announced their intention to create a new continuity for all of their DC superhero movies in a bid to resolve competing storylines. Alongside Warner Bros. the film ‘Green lantern’ was first released in june 2011.

Green Lantern is an American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. The film stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett and Tim Robbins, with Martin Campbell directing a script by Greg Berlanti and comic book writers Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim, which was later rewritten by Michael Goldenberg. The film tells the story of Hal Jordan, a test pilot who is selected to become the first human member of the Green Lantern Corps. Hal is given a ring that grants him superpowers and must confront Parallax , his former mentor who instilled fear into him as a child. Hal’s ring is then taken by Kyle Rayner , a rookie Lantern, and Hal’s longtime love interest Carol Ferris joins him as his new partner. But Parallax isn’t the only threat that Hal must overcome.

The film was released in American and Canadian theatres on June 17, 2011. It received generally negative reviews from critics and fans, mainly citing the script and the CG effects. However, Ryan Reynolds’ performance was praised. The film earned $219 million against a $200 million budget. Subsequent sequels include 2013’s Green Lantern Corps, 2016’s Green Lantern, 2020’sGreen Lantern Corps, and a planned 2021 release of Green Lantern: The Animated Series.
