AppleTV+ Upcoming Film ‘Echo 3’ Trailer Dropped

Apple has released the trailer for their upcoming thriller series, Echo 3, which is set for release in late November. Echo 3 will be premiering exclusively on the new streaming service, Apple TV+, in November. The series stars Luke Evans (The Fate of the Furious) and Michiel Huisman (The Flight Attendant), and centers around two Marines who decide to start their search & rescue mission after a loved one is taken hostage in South America. The series is set to premiere in late November. Here is the official release: “The series, created and written by Mark Boal. stars Luke Evans as  Bambi and Michiel Huisman as his partner Prince in their quest to locate their missing sister Amber (Jessica Ann Collins). Luke Evans spoke about the series, saying, “Echo 3 is my biggest role to date. I love that it’s a genre I haven’t experienced before. It’s an exciting thriller in which I have the freedom to do things I could never do on film before.

What is the series about? 

Echo 3 is a series that follows two Marines who are on a mission to find their sister Amber (Jessica Ann Collins) after she goes missing along the Colombia-Venezuela border. The series follows the brothers’ search for their sister, with each episode following a different character’s point of view as they vie for power, authority, and control in the war-torn region. What is especially unique about this series is that we follow the characters who view the war as something different: they love it, and they are drawn to it. Echo 3 is a feature-length narrative that follows our protagonists on their quest for their sister, and gives a glimpse into what motivates people to fight in these conflicts.

Why should I watch this series?

Echo 3 is a special project for several reasons. First of all, it was created by Mark Boal, who wrote the Oscar-winning script for the 2010s The Hurt Locker and co-wrote 2012’s Zero Dark Thirty. Boal also wrote the series’ debut episode, which serves as a fascinating glimpse into his creative process. Aside from that, the series brings a whole new meaning to the term “Netflix and chill” by making viewers, even you, a part of the action. Each episode shifts perspectives between different characters, so as you watch, you might find yourself more emotionally invested than ever.

What about the development? 

In July 2020 it was announced by AppleTv+ that it had given an order for 10 episodes of the Echo 3 series. The series, created and written by Mark Boal, would be produced by Apple and Keshet Studios and adapted by Boal from an original Israeli format created by Keshet International’s Avi Nir and Rotem Shamir. Boal would also executive produce alongside Jason Horwitch, with whom he has worked on previous projects.
