Romeo and Juliet is one of the most famous love stories in all of literature. Written by William Shakespeare, it tells the tale of two young teenagers who fall madly in love, despite the feuding families that war against each other. However, Romeo was not the first heartbreak he had previously fallen for a girl named Rosaline before he found his true love with Juliet. This is the story of how Juliet eventually became Romeo’s true love, but it also provides a rare glimpse into the life of an antagonist before and after becoming an antagonist in one of Shakespeare’s most popular plays.

What is the movie based upon?
The story of “Romeo and Juliet” has been adapted many times, with various directors and screenwriters taking on the challenge of making the play’s classic tale relevant to a new audience. In 2013, director Carlo Carlei made his interpretation of the story with his film “The Star-Crossed Lovers.” Based on William Shakespeare’s famous play, “Romeo and Juliet,” this version tells the story from Rosaline’s point of view. The story of Romeo and Juliet is one of the most famous love stories in all of literature. What makes this movie interesting?
This film is interesting because it tells the story of Romeo from the perspective of Rosaline, who was his first true love. She does not possess infinite knowledge about romantic relationships and how they develop. She is, however, an observant character who generally understands how things work. As such, she takes on the role of a “wise fool,” or someone who comments on the story read by characters that are normally stupid and uneducated. As it turns out, Rosaline’s emotions and perceptions are very much similar to those of Romeo.
What makes this character unique?
Everyone knows that Juliet is beautiful, but readers don’t always realise what a vibrant personality she had. Rosaline is the opposite. She is quiet and shy in contrast to Juliet, but she possesses a mind that can rival many of Shakespeare’s most famous female characters. Rosaline is intelligent and observant, which allows her to play an important role in the film as opposed.
What does this movie teach us about how relationships develop?
The movie teaches us that love is not always mutual. In this case, Romeo loved Rosaline, who did not reciprocate his feelings because she was unaware of them herself. She grew up thinking that he was in love with Juliet, which set him on a path to ruin his future with Juliet by telling her his true feelings for Rosaline rather than revealing them when they were both ready for it.
