The Rock Finally Gets A Supervillain Named ‘Black Adam’

As one of the most powerful beings in the DC universe and arguably one of the greatest villains, Black Adam has been a hugely anticipated addition to the team-up film as he battles to rule over his rightful nation. Now, thanks to a Comicbook report, we have learned that Dwayne Johnson will be playing Black Adam on screen, and from what we can tell from our sources, he is going to make for a formidable opponent for Shazam. He was trained as a wrestler at the WWE’s developmental facility Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) in Orlando, Florida. In 1999, The Rock signed a contract with the World Wrestling Federation (WWF), debuting in 1999. His first role in the company would be as Rocky Maivia’s (later “Rocky”) bodyguard-turned-rival, Faarooq. Shortly afterward he became known as “The Great One” after WWF co-founder Vincent K McMahon on-screen persona Mr.

What is the movie about?

SHAZAM first hit theatres back in April but it was so popular that the studio moved the release of its sequel to March 2019. The movie will star Zachary Levi as Shazam, a young man who has been granted special powers by an ancient wizard after being transformed into an adult. Where Black Adam is shown as a powerful villain in the comics, in the movie he is set to be a “true anti-hero”, according to our source. Warner Bros is said to be going for a darker tone with their superhero movies and this will be the first time we have seen Black Adam on screen so it should make for an interesting introduction. 

What DC fans are expecting from this movie?

Well, as I said earlier Black Adam is one of the most powerful men in all of DC comics so it makes sense that he would have a very interesting role in this movie as it could show us how powerful Shazam is in comparison. Shazam has also been portrayed as a real kid so it should be interesting seeing him become an adult through his powers and what he will ultimately achieve. As well as this, tons of DC villains could be showing up in the movie and we already know that they are planning to link all the superhero movies together via Flashpoint so there’s a big chance we could see some other characters make an appearance.

Why should you watch this movie?

This movie is going to show us a new side to Black Adam as he has never been portrayed as an anti-hero so we’re very interested to see how Johnson will do with the role. The movie looks like it will have a great story and I think that we are going to see Shazam grow into his powers quickly which means he will go up against Black Adam in the next few years.
