‘The Mean One’ Is Set For December Release

A new take on an old tale is coming out on December 15th and will likely leave many with nothing but a few hard feelings. The Grinch is back in full swing with an r-rated version of his story about stealing Christmas away from everyone else. The author of this particular book, Eleanor Davis, was inspired by Dr. Seuss and his inspiration for The Grinch. Rather than stealing Christmas away only to have to realize its true meaning, the Grinch is out for blood this time around. The story of “The Mean One” is an interesting twist, but it is highly unlikely that it will be able to stand up to the classic festive tale of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” As with most modern take-offs, this is a more adult version of the story that has been created. What is the movie about?

The Mean One is a horror film about the ghastly green giant who lives up in the hills and hates Christmas. He is also known to haunt Newville every year. The townsfolk are aware of his existence and they, too, despise him immensely. At the story’s outset, it is Christmas morning and Cindy is on her way to see her parents, who were slaughtered by the walking, demonic boogeyman known as the Mean One 20 years prior. It has been Cindy’s mission to avenge their deaths since childhood and she is now on her way to try and exact vengeance. There are some sinister beings involved in this plot that have their agenda and they also want to see this devilish monster destroyed. The Mean One is also not your typical killer/monster as he doesn’t just kill people but he likes to slice them up first.

Who can watch this movie?

The Mean One is intended for young adults, teens, and adults. It’s got a little bit of everything in it. It’s scary, it’s funny and there are even some cool special effects in it as well. There are also some sexual overtones in the film that I’ll leave to the viewers to discover on their own. 

 If you are afraid of monsters, this film may scare the hell out of you. This film will not attempt to make the audience laugh, it is a serious horror flick.

 About the production? 

This is a parody of the Dr. Seuss book, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” in which a horror-like setting is set for release on December 15, 2022. On October 7th of 2022, XYZ Films began collaborating with other film production companies to create this unauthorized parody of the story. The film is directed by Steven LaMorte who has worked with various studios, independent and syndicated producers, and theatrical distributors.
