What is the movie about?
Enter Sandman, Enter the Sanderson Sisters. The film will follow the three immortal witches from the first film: Lily, Max, and Danii. It will take place in modern times. The idea for a sequel to Hocus Pocus was first conceived by Amy Zimmer, who wrote the original film after she had watched her daughter watch one of the earlier Disney Channel Original Movies that had been based on a Disney movie – like High School Musical or Camp Rock – with its “Disney scenes” from Hocus Pocus whenever someone told her about it. Then she just knew that if no one else was going to make a sequel, then she would make one herself.
Who should watch this comedy movie?
Adults will be able to enjoy it but Disney Movie Critic, Shawna Malcolm, who watched the movie (which she termed R rated) said: “This is a dark and edgy comedy that I think anyone would enjoy seeing on the big screen. It’s not for anyone under the age of PG-13.”
What are the critics saying about Hocus Pocus 2?
Critics point out that Hocus Pocus 2 would be made by a different person or team than the first film. They also acknowledge that some of the scenes which were originally intended for the first film were cut, edited, and stored. Although these scenes were supposed to show what happened to Max, Danii, and Allison after they defeated Lilith and her sisters, it is unknown if they will be used in the sequel but it is possible because they have not been destroyed by anyone.
