‘Mufasa:The Lion king Prequel’ Sets Release Date

Mufasa: The Lion King is the prequel to Disney’s latest release, The Lion King. This will serve as a sequel to the 1994 film and will focus on a young Scar. It will be released in theatres on July 5, 2024, and is expected to be another major success for Disney. The creative team involved with the film includes Barry Jenkins (director) and Jeff Nathanson (scripter). There is a lot of hype around the film and its early release has proved that. The company plans to release a teaser trailer soon and will likely do a major marketing campaign to build the hype up even more. This movie is going to be set in Africa and will focus on Scar (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor) as he tries to take over Pride Rock. The film will be rated PG-13 for some intense action sequences, some thematic elements, and brief language. There is no news yet if anyone from the original cast or production team from The Lion King will contribute to this prequel.

This upcoming movie will be a prequel to the 2019 remake of Mufasa and will see Simba grow up to become king himself. This movie is to be directed by Barry Jenkins. “it is said that this film will retain many of the elements from the original, but will offer a fresh look at the lion’s story.”

How the production going:

On September 29, 2020, it was announced that a follow-up was in development for the CGI live-action remake of The Lion King it will be directed by barry Jenkins who has replaced Jon Favreau as director jeff Nathanson who wrote the remake will write the script. The film’s story will expand the mythology of the franchise and explore Mufasa’s origin story while moving the story forward in the present in a structure similar to that of The Godfather Part II.
