Netflix’s “Do Revenge” Is The Masterpiece Says Fans

Netflix has been on a roll this year with its releases, and its latest original film Do Re Mi is no exception. The dark comedy centers on Drea and Eleanor, who meet at a summer tennis camp (one as an instructor and the other as a camper) and team up to seek revenge on their respective tormentors. It’s their senior year at Rosehill Country Day school, and their plans to take down their enemies are elaborate in the typical teen movie way but eyebrow-raising nonetheless.

Things you need to know about this movie:

If you love young adult cinema, you’ll undoubtedly be pleased by this teen drama. The film centers on two girls whose friendship is on the rocks even before it begins. They have to go through a lot of challenges and tribulations just to establish their friendship, but once they do, there is hardly anything that could tear them apart- except for the bad guys that they’re trying to take down together. If you love a good villain, this movie is also for you. Various antagonists keep coming in to bring the girls down and put them through painful challenges. From their respective mean girls to ruthless competition managers, Drea and Eleanor have to battle these people by mind one at a time if they want to survive high school unscathed.

Are High school dramas toxic?

The film’s humor is dark, witty, and spot-on. The movie starts on a high note with Drea and Eleanor coming up with their plan to exact revenge on their enemies. But as the plot progresses, audiences are treated to two very different narratives about what high school life is like for the protagonists. While Drea can get far in her scheme by using her looks, money, and popularity to achieve her goals, Eleanor finds herself at a disadvantage due to circumstances beyond her control. Her mother’s illness deeply impacts the way she conducts herself in class and on the court as well as outside it.

This movie is a perfect example of how to make a good teen comedy. It has everything: it’s funny, it’s got romance, it’s got action, it’s got great characters, and finally, it also teaches young adults about the importance of friendship and team building.
