Story of The Thor: Love and Thunder
The film is the fifth installment of Marvel’s cinematic universe featuring the Norse god Thor. It follows on from Thor: Ragnarok and stars Chris Hemsworth as the titular character along with Natalie Portman and Cate Blanchett. The story follows Loki on his quest for power as he plots to take down Asgard with a mighty weapon befitting an immortal; the Tesseract. Thor, meanwhile, is struggling with his mortality and must face the end of all things.
As a comic book nerd, I was very excited to see this film as it had been a while since I’d last caught up with Thor and his adventures. The first thing that comes to mind when walking out of this movie is how much it excels at paying homage to the old Norse myths. Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of this movie is Natalie Portman’s Valkyrie. While she’s not present in most of the film she certainly makes an impression where she does show up.
As we approach the end of July, it is clear that Thor: Love and Thunder and Vikrant Rona are the largest moneymakers
In July, Vikrant Rona emerged as the biggest box-office winner. This was evident from the pure number of tickets sold which is approximately 5 crores according to a Bollywood Hungama report. The other big winners in July were Thor: Love and Thunder and Rocketman. Vikrant Rona has gone on to become one of the highest-grossing Indian movies this year with a total box-office collection of Rs 5 crore (approximately USD 450,000). This was a record-breaking feat considering the amount of money spent on marketing and publicity.
Thor: Love and Thunder took the second spot with a positive box-office collection of Rs 3.5 crore (approximately USD 340,000). Despite being panned by critics for its shoddy editing and poor storytelling, Thor: Love and Thunder have managed to stay in the headlines since it was released. The movie is an official adaptation of the Marvel Comics superhero Thor and stars Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Idris Elba, and Natalie Portman among others.
