Top Netflix Originals To Binge-Watch

Netflix Originals

In the old days, you had so many stations to choose from, making it difficult to locate great programming to watch. On the other hand, Netflix has a big collection that may be too much for some people to handle. While you wait for the next season of your favorite show to begin, how do you know what to watch?

There’s no shortage of great Netflix originals these days. In fact, it seems like there’s something new and exciting to watch on the streaming service every week. Whether you’re looking for a powerful drama, a hilarious comedy, or an edge-of-your-seat thriller, Netflix has you covered.

Here are some of the best Netflix originals you might want to watch while you munch your favorite snack and healthy smoothie!

Black Mirror

Charlie Brooker, the British creator of Black Mirror, imagines a distinct near-future dystopia in each of the show’s stand-alone episodes. Let’s compare notes on how well we engage with one another in real life. Why not run for president as a racist cartoon character who appeals to folks who are tired of dealing with real politicians? The border between truth and fun is blurred in a multi-player game? Because of a deterioration in the show’s quality as well as a warning of its original impact by the fifth season, the techno-societal anxiety of Black Mirror had outstayed its welcome. However, the series’ best episodes, such as the romantic “San Junipero” or the exciting “USS Callister,” combine humor with horror in a way that is both disturbing and effective.

Stranger Things

Netflix’s Stranger Things is a supernatural thriller set in the 1980s about a group of kids who are trying to find their missing friend. It’s been praised for its mix of ’80s nostalgia and creepy, suspenseful scenes. Stranger Things is a Netflix original series that was released on July 15, 2016. It’s an American science fiction horror web television series created by The Duffer Brothers.

The show is set in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, in 1983 and follows the journey of a group of young friends as they investigate the disappearance of their friend Will Byers. The first season deals with the characters trying to find Will and dealing with supernatural events that occur along the way.

Bridgerton

If you’re wondering whether or not Bridgerton on Netflix is worth watching, the answer is an unequivocal yes! In fact, it became Netflix’s most watched English language series. The series, based on Julia Quinn’s books of the same name, follows the Bridgerton family through the ups and downs of Regency Era London high society.

The show is visually stunning, with lavish costumes and beautiful scenery. But it’s also smart and funny, with well-developed characters and an intriguing plot. If you’re a fan of historical dramas, then Bridgerton is definitely for you. And even if you’re not typically into that genre, I think you’ll find yourself enjoying this show. So go ahead and add it to your queue – you won’t regret it!

Squid Game

There’s a good reason why this Korean thriller has swiftly become one of Netflix’s most popular programs. There are elements of horror, drama, and, strangely, a game-show competition in the show’s morbidly compelling plot: hundreds of indebted participants accept an unexplained invitation to play a series of children’s games in the hopes of earning a large sum of money. As the number of players in each episode decreases due to the fact that you die if you lose these games, the stakes become more natural for viewers, but there is also an emotional connection. These folks aren’t terrible; they’ve just been dealt a lousy hand and are now buried under a mountain of debt. Surely they don’t deserve it.

The Umbrella Academy

The Umbrella Academy is a recent addition to Netflix’s catalog, quickly becoming one of the streaming service’s most popular shows. The series is based on the comic book series of the same name and follows a group of estranged siblings with superpowers who must reunite to save the world from an impending apocalypse.

If you’re looking for an edge-of-your-seat thriller with plenty of superhero action, then The Umbrella Academy is definitely worth watching. The characters are well-developed, and the plot is twisty enough to keep you guessing until the end. And unlike some other superhero shows, this one doesn’t take itself too seriously – so it’s perfect if you’re looking for a bit of light relief between seasons of Game of Thrones.

Sex Education

There are no animated characters in this British farce, which follows in the footsteps of Nick Kroll’s Big Mouth in delving into the most uncomfortable and embarrassing aspects of sex. The show follows a mother-son team as they try to get through those “talks” that no one wants to have. While Otis (Asa Butterfield) is forced to deal with Dr. Jean Milburn (Gillian Anderson) and her domineering ways at home, he’s also helping his buddies in an underground sex therapy group with his own advice. Even though the program loves to play with ’80s high-school stereotypes, there’s actual subtlety and effort put into how these adolescents are depicted and their relationships with sex onscreen. In addition, Anderson has impeccable comic timing.

Peaky Blinders

Peaky Blinders, a Netflix-exclusive British import set in the same time period as HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, is the UK’s answer to the American drama. Although the IRA is also involved in the activities of the British criminals in Peaky Blinders, the film lacks the piercing intensity of Cillian Murphy, who plays a character who is reminiscent of Prohibition-era Boyd Crowder. Seasons two and three of the program include Tom Hardy as a memorable guest star (along with Noah Taylor). Everything about it feels relevant and modern because of the way it blends rough-accented melodrama with historical events to create an addicting and powerful experience.

Heartstopper

Fans of Alice Oseman’s uplifting queer narrative have been waiting patiently for the Netflix adaption, which will be adapted from her Tumblr webcomic, graphic book, and now, now, from her Netflix program. Charley (Joe Locke) and Nick (Kit Connorblossoming )’s romance is beautifully depicted in this emotional and earnest teenage coming-of-age drama written and directed by Euros Lyn. With wonderful music, superbly detailed adolescent bedroom sets, and an all-around skilled ensemble, Oseman’s initial spark is still evident in the moving images.

The LGBTQ+ community will surely love this.
