Olympians and Percy Jackson Disney+ Series to Premiere Soon

If you’ve ever read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan, you know that anything can happen. And it appears that Disney is set to prove just that by creating a TV series based on the books. The show, which will be called Percy Jackson, is set in present-day New York City and tells the story of a young demigod who has been kicked out of school for starting too many fires with his powers. When he discovers a conspiracy to release ancient gods from their prisons around the world, he goes on an unexpected adventure with a few friends from Camp Half-Blood to stop them. The TV series will also be available on Disney+.
Introduction to The Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Percy Jackson is a modern-day teenager who can’t seem to find his way. Raised by a single mom, he spends his free time getting into water fights with the neighbor kids and playing in traffic. What Percy doesn’t realize is that he has more than an exceptional set of skills at his disposal–he has talents no one else does. Percy’s best friend, Grover, is a satyr (yes, those half-goat creatures from Greek mythology). Grover has been charged with protecting Percy from monsters. While guarding Percy one day, Grover discovers that Percy has been surreptitiously visiting Camp Half-Blood, a place for children of the gods (mostly Greek), and finds out that he now has to accompany him. From this point on, Percy sets off on an unbelievable adventure. Together with his two new friends Annabeth Chase and Tyson Blofis (yes! That is indeed a Cyclops), they take on all sorts of monsters, including giants and Hades himself.

The plot of the book is about Percy Jackson, a twelve-year-old boy living in New York who discovers that he is a demigod. All his life, he has been looking for an answer to why he has to live with a loving mother and alcoholic father. One day, while on a field trip to the museum of natural history, Percy encounters his teacher, Mrs. Dodds; who he later finds out is a Fury. Later in the night, during the winter formal dance at his school, Aegis captures Percy’s best friend; Grover Underwood. To save him, Percy must find his way through Camp Half-Blood and defeat the Minotaur that guards it.
