The Undead Know How To Live, According To ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ Season 4 Review

“What We Do In The Shadows” is, in my opinion, one of the best shows on TV. A series about vampires living in New York, “What We Do In The Shadows” is funny and witty, and smart, tackling topics like friendship and intimacy with a lightheartedness that is almost impossible to achieve. It’s no wonder that the show has been renewed for Season 4 already. Rumors are also flying around that the show is being made into a movie, so you can probably expect more “Shadows” in your life soon. And if you’re still not a believer right now, these reasons that you need to start watching “What We Do In The Shadows” will hopefully convince you to give it a go.

Introduction to The What We Do in The Shadows

What We Do in the Shadows is a New York-based sketch comedy show combining flat-out absurdist humor with satire. Episodes run on top of each other, interacting to show how the same characters and scenarios exist at all times in a shared space. The series began as a collaborative project between F&P productions and Tiny Island Productions, co-produced by Rhys Darby (Flight of the Conchords), Ben Fransham, and Jonathan Brugh (Ruby Skye Puketapu). Episodes were filmed throughout Auckland before being edited together with special effects in post. It can be seen on NZ’s TV3 network or online through YouTube or the TVNZ website.

Recap of “What We Do in the Shadows” Season 4 Episode 2

The gang is back and this time they go on a road trip to Norway to save some werewolves from becoming vampires. Here’s the episode in a nutshell for those who don’t have an hour to watch it right now. Vampires Marius and Deacon are keeping the werewolves imprisoned and feeding them vampire blood so they can turn them into vampires. Meanwhile, Nick has turned Mavis back into a maid with zombie powers, making her natural mojo super sweet! The gang arrives in Norway where they find out that when a vampire turns someone else into one, the original vampire kills themselves to make way for their progeny (yikes!).
