“Game of Thrones” enters a new age with “House of the Dragon.”

The Lannister family stands at the center of Game of Thrones and the novel it is based on, is A Song of Ice and Fire. Over nearly a century in Westeros’s history, they have grown from sadistic landlords to kings and back again. But now they face a future without their patriarch, Tywin Lannister; without Cersei, who has been imprisoned for her crimes against the Faith; and with Jaime fighting through an army of Dothraki to return home. Here are some hints about what fans can expect as we enter a new age in Game of Thrones…

The Lannisters will Keep Going. Tyrion has shown the Lannisters how to react to crisis, and in the new season, Jaime Lannister will continue to lead them while he fights on the other side of Westeros. In King’s Landing, Sansa is poised to take over when she marries a member of the Kingsguard, possibly Ser Loras Tyrell (who must somehow survive the Queen’s Guard). And back at Casterly Rock in their ancestral seat of Highgarden, though Tywin’s death is on our minds all episode long, there’s also news we’ve been waiting for ever since A Storm of Swords: The arrival of a new heir at court.

The storyline of The Game of Thrones

In Westeros, summers can last decades and winters a lifetime. But while HBO has now caught up with George R.R. Martin’s novels, this show is entering uncharted territory… The show that made dragons and dire wolves householisords is about more than just a fight for power (though there’s plenty of that too!). It is about the battle between good and evil, royal blood and common clay – between honor and loyalty, on one hand, ambition and betrayal on the other…and about whether our moral compass points true north or south. The result, says actor John Bradley, is a “moral story that’s repeated throughout history.”

It’s a fairy tale with a difference. The “moral story that’s repeated throughout history” is a warning of what happens when you treat people as means to an end rather than as ends in themselves. And the steady erosion of morals and values that even Martin admits will not end well. That warning was brought home by the events of Season 4.

Game of Thrones shift explained by the head of House of the Dragon

In the last episode of the season, showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss altered what was to be a battle between Euron Greyjoy’s ironborn and Theon Greyjoy’s ironborn, instead staging an attack on Kings Landing by the Golden Company. It is also worth noting that in A Song of Ice and Fire, this battle takes place during Daenerys’ invasion of Westeros with her dragons as she marches toward Winterfell while King’s Landing is still reeling from her destruction of its Great Sept. With his fleet, we will invade and sack King’s Landing.” — Euron Greyjoy

Now that we’ve come to this major change, there are a few things that need to be clarified:
This is how I see it happening: What will happen is Euron and Yunkai (or Victarion to not spoil the narrative or even a small slice of the narrative) would sail south along the coast and then land their ships on Dragonstone (the island castle guarding against an invasion landing) as if he planned for just such an invasion.
