Meet Mike and Carol. They’re a normal family, with three kids of different genders, who live in a suburban home. The couple faces many obstacles in their attempt to live happy lives while dealing with the challenges of raising a child on the autism spectrum. Eventually, they decide that they need to find new ways of expressing themselves and sharing experiences that are specific to their child’s condition.

What are the difficulties they face?

The difficulties include When Carol, a homemaker with 3 daughters, gets married to Mike, an architect with 3 sons, the couple faces numerous obstacles in raising their children together and teaching them how to live together as siblings. Carly is a 12-year-old daughter who has been diagnosed with autism. Her brothers and sisters are having a hard time understanding her and living in harmony. Even the parents have difficulties with them due to personality clashes between the children. Mike is determined to help his daughter overcome her “disability”.  While Carol wants her children to accept their sister for who she is. They have trouble disciplining their children too.  Because each child responds differently to different discipline techniques.

Who is the antagonist? What are its motives?

The antagonist is Jan, a neighbor who has two daughters of the same age as Mike’s children. She too is concerned about her daughter’s well-being. She doesn’t want to share her daughter with anyone. She is threatening that if Mike and Carol are not willing to separate their children, she will take her daughters away from them. The antagonist makes it hard for the family to live in harmony with each other due to personality clashes between the siblings which made them miserable when they were younger.

What are the epic scenes?

The epic scenes include After she has been diagnosed with autism, Carol gets depressed and suicidal. The family is convinced that there is nothing wrong with her but she does not respond to any treatment. They finally decide to go for a genetic test which determines that her younger sister has the same condition as their daughter. The siblings have to undergo therapy and counseling sessions to learn how to live together as siblings.

Who is the most loved character?

The most loved character is Greg. He is a 14-year-old boy who has a very feminine manner and believes that being gay is a sin.  He loves to dress up in feminine clothing and uses to use the word queen with his siblings. He has very good computer skills too and enters an online computer game competition by using his programming talents.

Would you recommend watching this?

Yes, definitely. It is a very interesting story that shows how to love and accept the differences that we see in other people through the Brady Bunch. The story also shows us that it is important to like yourself for who you are (regardless of whether you have autism or not) rather than try to be someone else who does not exist. Thanks for reading!
