Anthony Anderson Explains Why He Left Law And Order

Anthony Anderson is one of the hottest actors on TV. He’s appeared in Law & Order and Everybody Hates Chris and now he has his show The Chi about Chicago police officers. He tells Oprah why he left law enforcement behind for an acting career. Here are ten reasons Anthony Anderson left law and order for Hollywood, along with an answer to the question “if you could have stayed on, what would you have done?”
1. MORE MONEY
“It wasn’t about the money,” he says, “but as a police officer you’re never going to get rich.”
2. MORE TIME WITH FAMILY
“I love the idea of being able to spend more time with my wife and children,” he says. “As a police officer, I never would’ve seen my kids grow up if that was the case.”

The storyline of The Law & Order
The Law & Order series is a crime drama that developed from the police procedural. The storylines are of law enforcement officers and criminal profilers, who investigate the cases. The crime lab staff has also evolved into a major character. David Warren took over as head of the Special Victims Unit in 2006. In 2010, he decided to retire because he was not offered a salary increase but was threatened with layoffs if he refused to accept his contract extension.

The search for a new head of the SVU started as soon as Warren retired. Instead of choosing a senior federal prosecutor who had experience with SVU, writers turned to people from the NYPD who had worked within SVU. The new cast included (in order of appearance): Christopher Meloni as Detective Elliot Stabler, Elizabeth Keifer as Detective Olivia Benson, Richard Belzer as Detective John Munch, Angie Harmon as Detective Alexandra Cabot, Dann Florek as Captain Donald Cragen, and Danny Pino as Detective Joe Fontana.
Law and Order Next season on SVU, there will be a significant shift
If you’ve been watching Law & Order SVU since the day it first aired in 1999, we have some major news for you: starting in Season 20, Captain Cragen will be played by actor Dennis Farina. This is a huge departure from his predecessor, Dann Florek, who played Captain Cragen from the beginning. What makes this shift even more remarkable is that they are replacing someone who is still alive and well! Nobody can take over from Dann Florek because he isn’t going anywhere.
So, what do you think about The Law & Order?
