Top Gun: Maverick : Breaks the 1 Billion Dollar Mark worldwide at the Box Office .

Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. Training a detachment of graduates for a special assignment, Maverick may have an edge in combat, but he’s trading on a legend that has never been tested in the air.

What is the plot of the story?

Maverick and Goose do not want to be demoted to just instructor pilots. They are both aggressive fighter pilots and do not believe in a new training program for the Navy. This program was created because of a lack of experience on the part of the last generation of pilots who have been in space combat operations for ten years now. Maverick and Goose decide to go around orders and create their own, additional training regime for one week at an off-shore island. They plan for this regime for 2 days before going back with an F-14 Tomcat plane. They plan to take command of the island by air from anyone who may oppose them.

Maverick and Goose’s enemies are their commander, who does not believe in the training that Maverick teaches, and the Secretary of Defense Robert ‘Bob’ Work, who thinks that Maverick needs to be replaced. They prove to the Secretary of Defense, the Commander, and many others that they do not need to be replaced.
