Love, Victor is an amazing new show that follows the same storyline as Love, Simon but instead, it’s about a gay high school student who is also a very famous author and songwriter. Love, Victor is set in a world inspired by the movie “Love, Simon” but instead of focusing on the coming out of a closeted gay teenager, the storyline focuses on a famous music artist named Victor who is gay and has been in the closet for the past 8 years. The story unfolds through the life of Victor as he slowly comes out to his family, friends, and fans while trying to stay under the radar.
What is the plot of the story?
The story begins at the Grammy Awards, in which Victor has confessed to his longtime girlfriend that he’s gay and about to be outed. He wants to confess to his mother but is unable to as she had a stroke a few years back and is unable to understand what’s going on. Victor goes on tour solo but still struggles with being gay in the closet. He falls in love with Ben (I mean who wouldn’t) and both people are determined not to let their feelings for each other get in the way of their careers and lives again.
Who is in the cast? What role did each character portray?
The cast includes Michael Cimino, George Sear, and Shane Solomon. Michael Cimino plays the main character Victor, a gay man who is very famous in the music industry. He’s been in the closet for 8 years and has recently decided to out himself to his family, friends, and fans. He struggles with his sexuality but finds love in Ben. George Sear plays Ben, a boy crush who is determined not to fall in love with Victor because he knows it will distract him from his career, but ends up falling for him anyway. Ben George is one of the main characters of this story.

What are the difficulties they face?
The main challenge that Victor and Ben’s face is living life in the closet. Ben is determined not to fail at his career because of falling for Victor and both people are determined not to let their feelings for each other get in the way of their lives. The other challenge that they face is Victor’s mother, she has a stroke due to being overworked and having stress from her husband leaving her, after her stroke she no longer understands what’s going on and becomes violent towards people who are outed or anyone close to them such as Victor.
What are the themes?
The first theme of this story is coming to terms with who you are and falling in love with someone who isn’t out. Ben thinks he’s found the perfect person for him but he finds a new identity in Victor, who is struggling to come out to the world. The second theme of this story is letting go of someone you can’t have, because when it comes to love and people we can’t always get what we want but that doesn’t mean we stop trying.
Who is the antagonist? What are its motives?
The antagonist of this story is Victor’s mother, who has a stroke after being overworked and stressed from her husband leaving her. She no longer understands what is going on and becomes violent towards people who are outed or anyone close to them. Therefore Victor’s mother is the antagonist because she has a stroke after her husband leaves her and refuses to accept that her son is gay.
What are the epic scenes?
The first epic scene is in which Victor comes out to his mom. She has a stroke when she becomes over-stressed and starts to attack him. This is the perfect opportunity for him to reveal who he truly is but he doesn’t take it because he fears that she won’t accept him. The second epic scene was when Ben comes over to Victor’s house with Mikey, they all have dinner and they get into a huge fight because Mikey wants to keep their relationship secret. Ben goes outside and tells Victor how much he loves him, but then takes it back because of their career.
Would you recommend watching this?
I would recommend watching this because it is not just about a coming-out story, but it’s also about Victor learning to accept himself and his sexuality. The story involves love, music, and family.
