Stranger Things Season 4 Episode 7 : Get to know what actually happened at Hawkins Lab ? .

The action and suspenseful moments are balanced with the more subtle, slower moments of reflection. The episode starts off with Mom Hopper awaiting her turn to fight a monster. She has a plan and she is ready for battle but she also seems to be waiting for something or someone she knows can’t possibly show up. Meanwhile, Dustin is still in the toy store trying to decode the message from Gifford that El left behind. He soon discovers that Vecna’s motives are not what he expected them to be and he uncovers a message from beyond.

What is the plot of the story ?

The episode opens with Joyce and Jonathan trying to contact Hopper on the walkie talkie after watching him being taken away by agents. The two seem to be confused about Hopper’s sudden disappearance but soon realize he is not alone. He is being held captive by the agents who have taken over Hawkins lab. Later in the episode, we see them at the lab talking with Brenner (Matthew Modine) . One of the agents who has taken over Hawkins Lab, he asks what they are doing there but they simply inform him they were just checking up on an old friend.

Who is in the cast ? What role did each character portray ?

The cast include Millie Bobby Brown , Finn Wolfhard , the late Jonathan Groff, David Harbour , Winona Ryder, and the late (RIP) Nancy Wheeler. The episode stars David Harbour portraying Sheriff Hopper, Winona Ryder portraying Joyce Byers, Finn Wolfhard portraying Mike Wheeler, Millie Bobby Brown portraying Eleven, Caleb McLaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo playing Lucas Sinclair and Dustin Henderson respectively. Matthew Modine will be portraying Dr. Brenner and Noah Schnapp portrays Will Byers. Joe Keery portrays Steve Harrington who is Joyce’s current boyfriend and Natalia Dyer plays Nancy Wheeler.

What are the challenges they face ?

The challenges they face are the struggle to find Hopper who is being held captive and they try to figure out what happened in Hawkins Lab. We also see Joyce unable to cope with El being gone. She has not moved out of Jonathan’s room as she hasn’t been able to get over her grief. She has been in a deep depression because of El being gone. The episode ends with Joyce and Jonathan talking a bit about Hopper. It seems they are ready to move on and they are just not sure how to. Events in the episode include Hopper waiting on his turn to battle a monster and Dustin decoding Vecna’s message. The episode also shows how Joyce has been coping with El being gone. We also see her having a bit of a breakdown when El calls her on the phone.

What are the themes ?

The theme of love and family is seen in the episode as Joyce tries to cope with lost of El and Will. she hangs up the phone before we can figure out .  Who is calling her and realizes she has to move on with her life .  As she has a family that needs her. The epic scenes in the series have been the battle scenes between Hopper and the monster. We see Hopper as he waits for his turn to fight the monster by himself. The tension builds up as he knifes the monster, we see him kill it in hot pursuit. Once it is killed, we see Hopper and agent Brenner talk a bit before they go back to Hawkins lab. In between, we see Joyce and Jonathan hanging out in Jonathan’s room with Joyce sitting on her bed as tears stream down her face.

What is the message or lesson learned ?

The main message we see in the episode is that love and family are important in life. We see Joyce try to cope with losing El and Will but they are still there in her mind even though they are gone physically. We also learn that Hopper has been taken captive by Brenner and he needs rescue. Dustin realizes that Vecna has good intentions and he needs to be set free. Dustin is able to come to the conclusion that El must have known this for a long time as she had put a message for him on a toy before disappearing.

Would you recommend watching this ?

I would recommend it. This is one of the best series series I have ever watched. The music, the acting, the cinematography and the story all combine to make Stranger Things a must watch show which can be enjoyed by everyone. Thanks for reading !
