The story of “Pinocchio” is one that teaches children the importance of being truthful, brave, and selfless. Along with his assigned conscience (Jimmy Cricket), young Pinocchio must prove that he can be these things in order to earn permission from Stromboli–the Great Saint Anthony -to become a real boy again; if not then it’ll stay stuck as wood forever! The original story was written in Italian by Carlo Collodi and published in 1883. It’s been translated into many languages and adapted for the stage, screen, and even opera. The 1940 Disney film is probably the most famous adaptation but there are several others which include a 2002 live-action movie.

Geppetto carves a wooden puppet that he names Pinocchio. The next day, the puppet is brought to life by a blue fairy, who assigns Jiminy Cricket to be his conscience. Although he is warned by Jiminy and the blue fairy about the consequences of bad behavior, Pinocchio continues to act recklessly. As a result, his nose grows longer each time he tells a lie. He also has several other adventures including being swallowed by a giant fish and kidnapped by pirates before finally returning home to his father.

What are the epic scenes?

In the end, Pinocchio becomes a real boy and is reunited with his father, Geppetto.
