Jack lives with his wife and two children in an isolated hotel, where they are all suffering from cabin fever. The family’s daily life consists only of staying inside their rooms because it is too cold out there for them to step foot outside without risking getting clobbered by some local toughs who want nothing more than trouble caused by these “troublemakers.”  The family’s main source of food is from the hotel’s restaurants, which are not exactly top-notch. The children are bored and the wife is getting frustrated with her husband. All of this changes when Jack finds an old typewriter in one of the hotel’s storage rooms.

The Shining is a novel by Stephen King that was published in 1977. The story is about a family, the Torrances, who move into the Overlook Hotel to be its winter caretakers. Jack Torrance, the father, takes the job as an opportunity to write a play. However, his family starts to experience strange occurrences in the hotel and they soon realize that the place is haunted. While the novel is a work of fiction, it is based on a true story. The events that took place at the Overlook Hotel were inspired by a real hotel in Colorado called the Stanley Hotel.

What are the challenges they face ?

The family faces several challenges throughout the course of the story. The first is cabin fever, which starts to set in after they’ve been cooped up inside for too long. The antagonist in The Shining is Jack Torrance. His motives are to drive his family insane so that he can kill them. He believes that if he can do this, then he will be able to “shine” and become a famous writer.Some of the epic scenes in The Shining include when Jack is chasing his family around with an axe, and when he finally catches up to them and starts hacking at the door with it. Another epic scene is when Jack is trying to break through the bathroom door with an axe to get to his wife and son who are hiding inside.

Who is the most loved character ?

The most loved character in The Shining is probably Danny Torrance, the son of Jack. He is a sweet and innocent child who is caught in the middle of his father’s madness. Danny has a special ability called “the shining” which allows him to see into the future and communicate with ghosts. This helps him to warn his mother about what is going to happen and ultimately save her and himself from his father’s rampage.

The Shining is definitely a classic horror movie that is worth watching.
