Y: The the last man season 2: released or cancelled?

What is the series about?

The series is about Yorick Brown who is the last man on earth and his monkey Ampersand. The show follows Yorick as he travels across the country and meets new people. The show also shows how the other survivors are coping with the loss of all the men in the world. Yorick’s mother, Jennifer Brown, is also a main character in the show and she is the new U.S. President.

All of the characters are dealing with how to survive in this new world where everything has changed. There are no longer any governments or laws to follow. Everything is up for grabs now that there are so few people left on the planet.

Who are in the cast of Y: The Last Man’ Season 2?

Yorick is played by Barry Keoghan. He was a young boy when all the men died and he has spent most of his life on an escape ship with a small group of people. Clementine is played by Amandla Stenberg from The Hunger Games. She is one of the few women left in this world who is trying to make a difference. Dr Mann is played by Diane Lane who is also the producer of the show. She is one of the few remaining scientists and has dedicated her life to finding a cure for the plague that killed all the men.

What are the struggles they faced in this season?

The struggles they faced were that the women were struggling to keep society normal. They had no idea how much work it was going to be, and they needed men in order for them to produce children. Also, there are people who want power because everyone else is gone except them so they end up trying to get rid of Yorick because he has the DNA that could save the human race.

What did the world look like?

Who is going to be in charge of it all now that there are no men?  How will they repopulate humanity and make everything go back to normal again when people have already been born since then with only women’s DNA.

Who are the protagonist and antagonist?

The protagonist is Yorick Brown. The female character who took charge in the world after all of the men died was Agent 355. The antagonist was The Agent.  This show is full of characters with many different roles, but the main two are protagonist and antagonist.

Themes of the series?

Themes: Society, death and survival: The show is not in a specific time period. It is the future, but it looks like the present day and there are no flying cars or anything that would indicate it being different from what we have today.  It was made on a TV budget, so they do use some special effects with matte paintings to create backgrounds when needed, but for the most part, it is all real locations and actors. This gives it a more grounded feeling.

Which scene left everyone speechless?

The scene that left everyone speechless was when the group of scientists are looking at the footage of the president being killed. They have a conference call with some other people and one of them asks if they believe it is real. The scientist in charge of the project, Dr Mann, pauses for a moment and then says “I don’t know how he did it, but yes I believe the footage is authentic.”  As you can imagine no one was expecting that to be his reaction.

How was the ending?

The ending was very good. It wasn’t a cliffhanger like I expected it to be and it tied up most of the loose ends from season one. The only thing that felt unresolved is how Dr Mann’s fate ended in this episode, but since there will be more episodes we’ll probably find out his conclusion at some point down the road.
