The Vikings’: Season 6 Vol.2 is a continuation of the series that portrays the life and times of Viking Ragnar Lothbrok as well as his family. The show has been lauded for its high production values, costume design, props, sets and cinematography. In this season we see how Ragnar deals with his fame and power in Scandinavia while continuing to explore new lands across Europe with Leif Eriksson onboard their ship “The Sea Stallion”.

What is new in season 6?

Ragnar is dealing with his newfound fame and power in Scandinavia. He has a new ship called “The Sea Stallion”. He explores new lands across Europe with Leif Eriksson on board. We see the return of some old characters like Lagertha and Rollo.

Is there an antagonist?

The main antagonist in the first half of season six is Ivar The Boneless. He has fragile health and needs to be propped up by two men just so he can move around freely. There are also some subplots involving Lagertha’s relationship with her husband, Bjorn and his wife. Astrid schemes for the throne of Kattegat and it is up to Lagertha to bring her down.

What is the theme?

There were many themes in season six such as royalty, loyalty, betrayal and revenge but I am going with ambition . Season two was about who will become the next king of Kattegat and who will be left standing after the battles are fought. Lots of action, betrayal, suspense and drama. The ambition was definitely a big theme in Vikings’: Season six vol. two. As the season continued, more and more people fought for the throne of Kattegat. There were many betrayals and back-stabbing that went on and it made for an exciting season.

Which is the best scene in this season?

My favourite scene from this season would have to be when Lagertha comes back and takes her revenge on Ivar. It was a very satisfying scene to watch.

What are you looking forward to in the next season?

I am looking forward to seeing more of Bjorn’s journey as he travels to new places and meets new people. I am also looking forward to seeing more of Lagertha’s storyline and how she will deal with being a queen after everything that happened in this season.

My favourite character from Vikings?

It is hard for me to choose between Ragnar, Bjorn or Floki but I would have to say Ragnar because he was one of the most interesting and famous figures from the Dark Ages.

What do critics have to say?

Critics have been very positive about Vikings season six. Some critics called it the best season of the show so far while others praised Alexander Ludwig’s acting performance and his character’s storyline.

Is it worth the watch?

If you are a fan of the show then this season is definitely worth your time. If you haven’t seen Vikings before I would recommend that you start from season one as it can be hard to follow if you watch an episode or two randomly in the middle of a series.
