With so many people who have forgotten the program or at least have neglected to sing in the blank show, it’s likely that many individuals have forgotten about it. The program is now being rebooted. So will the Don’t Forget the Lyrics Reboot happen?

Niecy Nash, fresh from her guest appearance as a judge on The Masked Singer, will star in Fox’s Don’t Forget the Lyrics! reboot. The network has ordered a new version of the game show/singing competition format that will debut during the 2021-22 season.

Mark McGrath’s Sugar Ray is currently in syndication, having previously appeared on Fox from 2007 to 2009 and hosted by Wayne Brady. Here are the latest details and updates:

Don’t Forget the Lyrics: Is the Reboot Happening?

While most game shows at the time focused on word puzzles or knowledge, “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” was a one-of-a-kind show with its own distinct concept. Other game shows may be based on word games or facts, but this program was entirely focused on musical understanding.

It was used on the Australian version of “The Voice,” where contestants had to fill in missing words from a song. It’s credited with inspiring the recent NBC series “The Singing Bee,” which was also discontinued.

According to Pop culture, the show is now looking for extras for its revival. While no specifics have been revealed about the show’s return, old fans and lyric geniuses can already apply for a chance to win money on it.

“We’re searching for outgoing and intriguing contestants who know the lyrics to the most successful songs of all time,” according to the casting website. The show encourages people in Southern California’s driving range to audition.

What Was ‘Don’t Forget the Lyrics?’

The concept of the program was easy to grasp. The more song lyrics were completed in the episode, the greater the amount of money that was collected. If a participant attempts another song and fails, he or she loses everything.

It was a thrilling and exciting show. The original version of the program offered a prize of up to $1 million, while the syndicated version had the most money at $50,000.

The program followed the same lifeline procedure as “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” If they didn’t know the lyrics, family or friends could help them out by revealing two words, selecting between three possibilities, or choosing one of two options.

With more and more game-show revivals on the rise, “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” may have a fighting chance of remaining on the air. The show’s ratings were decent. For its premiere, it had roughly 3.4 million viewers in the 18-49 age group on Fox. On IMDb, the program has a 4.8 rating overall.

Throughout the course of the program, Fox aired about $10,735,000 worth of giveaways. It featured various musical artists and celebrities such as Bo Bice, Margaret Cho, Blake Lewis, Meat Loaf, and Kevin Cronin.

Will they sing the correct missing lyrics, or will they freeze under pressure in the Don’t Forget the Lyrics Reboot? If the contestants sing nine songs correctly, they receive a No. 1 hit and perform the last missing lines for the top prize.

Fox will stream the series worldwide. It will also be available on Tubi, the network’s AVOD service.
